Informal survey: Special gifts for cats?11 Jan 2005 03:21 GMT9
Do you buy special things for your cats that you know they won't
recognize or appreciate? Things like a nap pillow or dinner plate with
a cat-oriented design? In other words, the cat will appreciate a nice
soft pillow and a plate of good food, but has no idea about the design.

Last year, Speckles was diagnosed with kidney problems, with only a
quarter of kidney function left.  She was given K/D which she refused
with all stubborness to touch.  A cat will eat anything rather than
starve?  Not Speckles!!  Not K/D, not *any* brand of senior-citizen
Two Very Good Kitties10 Jan 2005 21:53 GMT3
I just managed to get a decent pic of Tommy & Baby Eyes sleeping together
and posted to alt.binaries.pictures.animals.
K/D Online?10 Jan 2005 21:27 GMT8
Since I've moved out of state, I'm obviously not taking Natasha to her
vet any longer. Because of finances, I don't want to have to take her
to a new vet unless absolutely necessary.
Problem - old vet had her on Feline K/D, which to my knowledge you can
Zoomies must be contagious!10 Jan 2005 19:29 GMT1
Normally Memphis is fairly sedate, Phoenix tends to be far more playful.
Today they were left on their own for a few hours. They had a big breakfast
and we left dried food for them to munch on while we were gone. I reckon
they must have slept the entire time, only to wake on our ...

I've added a new picture of Otis who set himself up to be worshipped:

My apology to Baha - I started off doing Buddhist insight meditation, hence
the Buddhas. ...
Cats aplenty10 Jan 2005 19:07 GMT5
I went with my friend Kristin and her son to the humane society yesterday to
look at kitties -- she and her family are feeling really needy without
Dexter.  We spent about 3-1/2 hours there in the the cat room!  I had my
volunteer badge on and ended up working with an amazing parade ...

Soldier's e-mail sparks food drive for Iraqi dogs
Friday, January 7, 2005 Posted: 8:01 AM EST (1301 GMT)
LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AP) -- Just before the New Year, Army Reserve Capt.
Gabriella Cook sent an urgent e-mail from Iraq requesting food
Update: dogs in Iraq10 Jan 2005 16:26 GMT2
I just saw a crawler on CNN that Hill's is sending a complimentary (and I
think permanent) supply of dogfood to Iraq. Cool.
Duffy decorates the Christmas tree10 Jan 2005 16:17 GMT6
I have often described my cat, Duffy, as "a little gymnast."  He loves to
climb, and anyone watching him would have a hard time recognizing that he is
blind (and has been since birth).  He left the Christmas tree alone except
for two occasions -- on the first day when I put it up ...
Persia got the Zoomies10 Jan 2005 15:39 GMT12
She went absolutely NUTS, zooming around the apartment, from the bedroom to
the living room to this room; up on the windowsill, back out to the couch.
I chased her up on the back of the couch where she got that WILD look in her
eyes and batted at my hands, then she took off again.  ...
Little miss bossy boots10 Jan 2005 04:30 GMT16
I'm so happy! My little ex-feral Pandora is a difficult customer.
She has never quite tamed up, is very spooky and jumpy and after 4
years I've only just been able to start gently stroking and tickling
her.
Helping Kitty10 Jan 2005 04:24 GMT22
I've said before how Kitty FC cannot miaow - or at least, she opens her
mouth and I don't hear her.
My two use the great outdoors for their litter box, they prefer it.  Lots of
nice earth to dig in.

Cats aren't clean, they're just covered with cat spit.
