A survivor kitty needs purrs07 Dec 2004 01:13 GMT13
A survivor kitty who was rescued from four abusive vermin is in need of
some major purrs. This news article has some pretty upsetting details in
it, but it also has an address where people can send donations to the
medical fund to assist her recovery. I'll copy and paste those ...
Striking colored kitten!07 Dec 2004 01:10 GMT14
Hi all, between the orphans and angelfish I don't even get to read
groups often but I got an orphan this week that I just have to share
with all the cat lovers. She is the most striking colors I've ever
seen. She and her brother and sister were 2 weeks old when mom died of
Kitty Nightmare07 Dec 2004 00:45 GMT4
Shortly before I woke up this morning I rolled over and put my hand on
Persia's side.  I fell into a dream where I thought I'd opened the door and
she dashed out!  It was so realistic I grabbed at her in my sleep to keep
her from running out!  She squeaked; I woke up.  She was ...
Shakespeare on Spam - OT07 Dec 2004 00:37 GMT2
>Would William Shakespeare have been able to turn out the
>literary masterpieces he did if he had to spend two hours each

HUG06 Dec 2004 18:35 GMT2
It's impossible not to hug a twenty pound Maine Coon when he comes over to
say "Hello".
(He was last weighed at 18 lbs, but DH thinks he's growing, and I do too...
GAH!)
Litter Box Question (Burmese)06 Dec 2004 18:34 GMT10
I was at the hairdresser today, and our conversation turned to cats.
She said that a friend of hers keeps different litterboxes for use by
different breeds of cats, and that the cats are trained so the Burmese
kitties use litterboxes far away from the commonly used rooms of the
Kitty Haiku06 Dec 2004 18:02 GMT6
Live in garden.  Plenty mice.
Then winter come.
Hungry.
Dogs in house.  Afraid.
Smudge understands English06 Dec 2004 17:19 GMT15
Sure, it's not news that cats understand their humans when they talk.
But today it became clear to me that Smudge understands a *word*, and
not just the body language and tone, or the fact that it's her mommy
speaking.
Testing Google-Beta (ignore)06 Dec 2004 16:20 GMT31
Just checking to see if my account through GoogleGroups is still
active. No need to reply (although you can if you like).
Shmogg amazingly spent *all night* on my bed, and has decided that the
only brand of gooshyfood he'll deign to eat is Whiskas. *sigh*.
we have a new furbaby!!06 Dec 2004 15:20 GMT46
Yes! Laku's no longer the only cat in this household. We brought a
little grey ball of fur home today.
He's a rescue kitten. An elderly relative of this woman had to go into a
nursing home and couldn't take her female cat with a litter of kittens
Billy & Tommy's new friends.06 Dec 2004 14:40 GMT2
Went out yesterday evening to find Billy because I hadn't seen him in a few
hours. Took the flashlight and proceeded to shine it around the yard,
calling "Billy! Billy! Time to come in, Billy!" when suddenly there were
four shining green-yellow eyes catching the light. To high off ...
Bonnie's new Mouse06 Dec 2004 14:39 GMT5
Bonnie was busy this morning.   She had this pink rubber mouse that she
was pummelling.   She really gave it the works - tossing it in the air,
catching it, crunching the poor little thing, smashing it with her feet
while holding it in her mouth.
Nina's Haiku06 Dec 2004 13:33 GMT8
Nina was so impressed by the Cat Haikus that she turned her paws to poetry:
While it is still dark
I am planning a surprise

Boyfriend the Brave06 Dec 2004 10:32 GMT21
There is a terrible wind rushing around here as well as lashing rain, but
the wind has only just got up, so I felt obliged to check the chicken huts
to make sure everything was safe (it's very, very late here)
I have a lamp that fastens on my head, so put it on, got all the outer
Purrs and hugs for anyone in need06 Dec 2004 09:20 GMT1
Like many here I don't always have time to reply to every post. Even tho I
don't reply to each post  I'm sending purrs and hugs to everyone in need.  I
love the stories you post about your firkids and try to read them all. Some
days I wish I had more time to be here but RL gets ...
