OT: Back home15 Dec 2004 01:51 GMT11
I'm back home surrounded by the gang. Tom says they missed me a lot and
he was forced to give twice as much attention to the lonely kitties... :)
I had a great time and took over 400 pictures (Tom will probably post
the best to his website, stay tuned), including one cat in Hase, ...
Purr Request for The Duke Of URL15 Dec 2004 01:50 GMT28
The Duke, who used to post in here, has not been heard from since he
dropped off from here and other newsgroups in the middle of September.
I thought he lived in Florida and had been affected by the hurricanes,
but he lives in Nebraska and has been in poor health, so far as ...
Pan Update 12-14-0415 Dec 2004 01:50 GMT5
Just a fast update on Pan's progress.  He has regained his appetite,
although he continues to stay very quiet during most of the day.  This is
not unusual for him, though. And the vet said the less he moves around, the
less stress he'll put on the leg, and the faster things will ...
RL absence and O&C update (LONG)15 Dec 2004 01:18 GMT23
I don't get to read the ng as much as I'd like.  Such great folks and
stories that cheer me up and can also make me cry in shared pain.  I read
Baha's thread on not feeling very merry and was awed by how so many of the
group have survived such horrible circumstances - not only ...
Bandit Lab Results15 Dec 2004 00:56 GMT9
Just got off the phone with Bandit's new vet.  She said Bandit's kidney &
thyroid tests look OK (BUN and Creatine levels were normal), but that her
urine was starting to be dilute which was not too unexpected since older
cats have more of a problem concentrating their urine.  ...
Thank you Daddy15 Dec 2004 00:47 GMT9
My younger cat Missy Mouse, or Mouse for short, has always followed me
into the bathroom. She will jump onto the sink and ask for the water to
be turned on. She only likes it to drip and hates it if the water
actually flows. The last few days she has started something new. She
I'm going to start a new themed photo album15 Dec 2004 00:45 GMT9
Sort of like "Where's Waldo" only it will be Shamrock's head. You've
already seen the one with him watching Rhett climbing the screen
door, well here is another. What a goof ball he is!
(duplicate, screen door)
She won't let it go!15 Dec 2004 00:44 GMT17
I gave Persia an early holiday present.  A felt mousie with a velcro closure
tummy which I filled with what I was assured was freshly dried catnip.
She's never cared about catnip before; I can only gather the other stuff was
so stale as to not be worthy of attention.
Email Holiday Cards!15 Dec 2004 00:13 GMT18
I couldn't afford to send holiday cards to everyone here this year, much as
I would have loved to.  I very much appreciate all the cards I've been
receiving; they bring huge smiles to my face and probably some perplexed
looks at the post office :)
Duke Final Report  12/14/0414 Dec 2004 23:51 GMT4
Greetings Everyone.
Grant Moses Lambert, AKA:  Duke of URL, is alive and well.
I spoke with him at length last night by using the Long Distance
Telephone.  Duke is preparing to move to Lincoln, NE, to be within a
**** DUKE IS FOUND **** 12/13/0414 Dec 2004 23:15 GMT12
Smile, I just 2 minutes ago got off the phone with Duke, He fine as he can
be, down on his luck a little. But, He's walking and Talking, he promised to
be on the net in the next couple days even if he has to use a library
computer. He wants to Thank You for your concern and the ...

It's Frank's 17th birthday today. I made an album with a few birthday
portraits:

OT: So what are you giving your DH for the holidays?14 Dec 2004 15:30 GMT3
Found this on another newsgroup. It fits right in with the recent
knitting discussion:
A little poem from the website to give you an idea:
Now that you're getting older,
OT--Unbelieveable solution to car problem14 Dec 2004 03:31 GMT19
Well, my car did it again. The temp light and the engine light came on
and I was in the middle of nowhere. So I kept going until I got
somewhere. As i pulled into the country gas station lot, the car died.
As it cooled the antifreeze in the overflow bottle spit and popped as
