Home for the Holidays (long)23 Dec 2004 22:48 GMT1
Well, I'm back up in Northern california now.  The weather is the same,
although more windy than Southern California.
It was really nice to see the doggies again.  They were jumping and
licking me and then they suddenly stopped and sniffed.
Seasonal Greetings from Cornwall, UK23 Dec 2004 22:13 GMT2
Bandit, Pericles, Snowball and I would just like to wish all the lovely
people on this Newsgroup the very best for the holiday season, whatever
your individual beliefs. May 2005 be more fortunate for everyone & as
free as possible from wars and untimely deaths.

Whole new meaning to "Meowmie"23 Dec 2004 21:24 GMT7
My daughter Catherine (days away from 16 months), says Dada pretty
clearly, and a number of "b" words, such as ball, baby, bubble and bear.
She also says Mama, or so I thought.  Tonight, as we were playing, I
heard her say mama, and looked up to say "Yes sweetheart?" and noticed
Your 'Kitty Ventures' on the Net23 Dec 2004 20:39 GMT2
Remember when you rpca folk created a thread of jobs and ventures for
cats that haven't a chance of succeeding? Well Flippy liked them so
much she's included them in her great Internet kitty website,
"Flippy's Cat Page", and thanks you, Bonbon, Joyce, Kreisleriana,

When did you say you mailed that book?  (Murder Most Feline)
It arrived today.  I've already started reading it.
So far I don't know who wants it next.  Please post under this header or
Murder Most Feline, or email me.
Update on Sam23 Dec 2004 16:56 GMT8
I am so glad that I took Sam to TED this afternoon.  Part of my mind
told me Sam was just trying to hork up a hairball but my instincts said
something else was wrong.  It turns out Sam has a cold.  His lymph nodes
are enlarged, he has watery eyes and a cough.  Fortunately he ...
Motherthing's Return Post23 Dec 2004 16:07 GMT12
Okay everybody, yes I disappeared for quite a while.  I don't know if I'd
had my second sinus surgery at that time but now it stands at two surgeries
to roto-rooter out my head.  I had a great doc and recovered well.  I
started exercising at Curves for Women and went on their ...
It's official, we're going home!23 Dec 2004 15:43 GMT20
I won't be making any money this week, but we will be getting home. We
finished delivering a load of dog biscuits in Tracy, CA (near Stockton)
about 9:00 this morning. Our next load doesn't pick up until noon
tomorrow in Fairfield (San Francisco/Oakland East Bay, not too far east ...
Clyde and Bonnie23 Dec 2004 15:11 GMT38
I started a round of the neighbours half an hour ago.   I had seen
Maurice, the man across the road, go out yesterday afternoon and I knew
he didn't come home until later that evening. I figured that Clyde might
be in his garage.   He wasn't.   However there is a small woodshed at
Soft Fuzzy Girl23 Dec 2004 09:26 GMT9
Persia is the quintessimal love-bug.  I swear, if anyone has a cuddlier cat
than she is I'll knit a hat.  (Okay, I don't knit but I'll buy one.)  When I
go to sleep she cuddles up next to me.  If I roll on my side she stays
snuggled against me.  If I stretch out my hand she wraps ...
Scout makes a breakthrough...23 Dec 2004 02:36 GMT8
Either that or somebody stole her and replaced her with a changeling.
Scout is a very timid kitty - she usually runs away from you if you
try to pick her up or bend down to pet her, and she keeps all
interactions strictly on her own terms, using her claws and teeth to
OT - Sandy Claws just drove by23 Dec 2004 01:58 GMT2
Our city FD rides around town with someone dressed up as you know
who. The truck riding in front of the fire truck stopped in front of
my house while the fire truck rode up the dead-end road across from
my house where it had to turn around to continue rounds. The guys in
Sibling jealousy23 Dec 2004 01:58 GMT3
As most of you know, both my cats have hyperthyroidism, and I give them
their medicine mixed into sour cream twice a day. Frank used to be an
angel about eating his sour cream. He would even come and remind me if I
was late with his 'treat'.
Ping:  anyone with Pat's phone #23 Dec 2004 01:21 GMT3
Just in case my e-mail to Pat didn't go through, I need her # since
I'm in line to call her early tomorrow morning.  I'll check my mail
early this evening.  Just put "Pat's number" in the header so I'll
know it isn't spam (ugh -- over 50 a day of those things!).  I got the
