Pericles turns 629 Nov 2004 18:13 GMT15
Greetings everyone. I'm sorry if this is a bit off-topic, but it's
about a cat
rather than a bubbel :-)

OT: Glucosamine as an arthritis treatment29 Nov 2004 18:00 GMT35
Do any of you extremely knowledgeable souls have any experience with
this product, usually sold as Glucosamine Sulphate?
My neighbour's been taking this supplement for some months and swears
by it. Slightly more on-topic his elderly Golden Retriever is

At nobody's request and merely due to my own vicarious vanity, I put some
pictures into a temporary album for anyone who's interested.  None of them are
particularly great shots, but maybe it will help to put a face to the names:

I'm thankful for...29 Nov 2004 16:26 GMT11
Australia doesn't have a Thanksgiving day, which is a shame, because out of
all the holidays of the year, I think that a holiday based on simple
gratitude without any overtone of religion or politics is a good one.
So happy Thanksgiving to those all those out there that do celebrate ...
Confessions of a Non-Cook [OT]29 Nov 2004 15:19 GMT22
OK, this may shock some of you, so sit down before reading on...
I hate to cook.  Yes, I *HATE* to cook.  My DH says that I'm a very good
cook (I think he is only trying to get out of cooking duties when he says
this) - so he forces me, every year, to cook Thanksgiving dinner ...
Devious Cat Tricks!29 Nov 2004 14:02 GMT26
For years, whenever Chessie comes into a room and finds Nikki snuggling with
me, Chessie goes into I'm-having-the-most-wonderful-time mode.  She starts
flinging catnip toys, chasing and rolling with them.  Naturally, Nikki soon
leaves me to join in the wonderful-time fun.  Don't ...
Could use some purrs for friend and family . . .29 Nov 2004 10:28 GMT21
Two people I know are going into the hospital tomorrow for procedures
:-(
My friend Myrt has advanced inoperable lung cancer.  Occasionally, it
causes tumors in her brain, and she has to have them lasered.

Love is in the air.. Or I guess not29 Nov 2004 10:12 GMT37
This is both on and off topic, but anyway...
Lately, a girl (no, woman) has more and more made it clear to me that she
thinks I am the answer to her dreams. On Friday she told me in pure words.
Of course I was flattered, because I like her very much, too, but... I just
Meowmie got a  MONSTER!!!!29 Nov 2004 10:06 GMT9
Today started like any other day.  Imp and I worked together to wake
up Mama Kristi so she could feed us.  But something was funny with my
tummy and I threw up my food.  Mama Kristi wasn't too happy to get out
of bed to clean up, but what does she know?  If she just fed me PROPER
BW, I hope, How Shroder became mine.29 Nov 2004 09:06 GMT3
As many of you may remember, Shroder recently crossed the Rainbow bridge,
while remembering him I got to thinking about his early days with us and
how he became my cat, and how I became a cat person.
Our kids, the two who were at home, wanted a dog to replace the one that
Mischief lives up to her name29 Nov 2004 07:17 GMT14
Yep, and here I thought there was something wrong.
She founda new perching spot, on top of my computer.  The thing is,
there's about 7 inches of space between the shelf and the monitor.  I
can't believe she made it up there.
Sometimes I don't like people very much!29 Nov 2004 05:55 GMT19
Today we had to take my elderly boston terrier to the emergency vets because
he had blood in his urine (he has a UTI). While we were waiting, this lady
(and I use the term loosely) came in carrying a cat. She explained to the
tech that the cat had been throwing up, and she needed to ...
Previous Holiday Cards29 Nov 2004 05:11 GMT4
I do one every year (it started one year, 2001, when I didn't have enough
money to buy cards for everybody so I made them and then my family insisted
I do the same every year!).
Here's last year's (2003) card - http://www.gcmensa.org/card1.htm
Mean Meowmie and Daddy!29 Nov 2004 00:39 GMT6
This morning I learned an important and valuable lesson - that  brown
stuff that meowmie uses to close up boxes is STICKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Meowmie was wrapping up a big brown box with tape and I wanted to
play with it. She told me to go away so I got up behind her and
