Thanks for all the purrs, gang!  Right now Nanki-Poo is shut in the
guest room!
This morning I sequestered Lindy in my room.  She complained every time
I opened the door, but didn't seem terribly upset.  I spent some time in

Sam went to the vet today. He tested negative for FIV/FeLV and had a rabies
shot. He will get the other shots when he is neutered on Dec 8. Yes, Sam is
a male about 21 weeks old.

"Andy Rooney" Hoax19 Nov 2004 20:51 GMT1
Here's the lowdown from snopes.com on the notoriously Neanderthal
"Andy Rooney" piece that's been making the rounds.

It doesn't really ring true anyway--Andy is cranky, but he is

I have a small fireplace in my apartment.  It has a mesh draw-screen.
Persia doesn't mess with the fireplace.  She likes to lay in front of it on
a pillow and watch the flames, but mostly she ignores it.
It rained all day yesterday and this morning is drizzly and misty.  The

You know you're a real Bubbel-Head when:
1)  You start to imagine a little cannon at the bottom of the screen

If you have access to alt.binaries.pictures.animals, look at the post called
"Saved Kitten". So adorable. I can't believe anyone could throw that kitten
away!!!!!
Cat hijacking my chair.19 Nov 2004 05:43 GMT2
Well the gas furnace is on the fritz and needs either replacement or a
miracle repair. My cat has been generously using the 2 electric
blankets upstairs.
When I am at the computer, my cat will try to sqeeze beside me or

Picked up Rhett and Scarlett today. The litter kept passing around one of the cat flu's so Scarlett is looking rough, but Rhett was the one in the bathtub with a really bad eye 3 weeks ago. He looks better now. Shamrock and Bonnie are none too amused right now, but they haven't ...
OT: Good Deeds19 Nov 2004 05:14 GMT64
I like to try to help people whenever I can.  This may be something as
simple as a big smile and saying hello, or (when I can) donations to the
food bank or to people less fortunate than I.
It's gotten chilly here in west Tennessee; two days ago it was 80F degrees.
Flexible Kitty19 Nov 2004 05:10 GMT13
Of our three cats, Fluffy and Smokey seem to have "normal" kitty tails.
They can wrap them around themselves, or walk with them sticking
straight up or straight out to the rear. But the other one, Kitty, can
lay his tail flat along his back with the end up on his head and walk

'Tough prey' photo18 Nov 2004 18:28 GMT1
I sent a delightful photo of a cat stalking a...well, you can see for
yourself...to the alt.binaries.pictures.animals newsgroup (as well as
to Flippy a few days ago). That's because it's been forwarded so many
times its source is unknown, and I'm curious about it. I figured if
Feliway question18 Nov 2004 18:18 GMT15
Yowie suggested Feliway as a means to get Lindy to tolerate Nanki-Poo.
Has somebody here used it for that purpose?  How do you use it?  How
well does it work?

Kitty Farmcat - a dilemma18 Nov 2004 17:29 GMT27
Okay, so this is a cat that I noticed on my property 10 years ago.  I
thought she belonged to a neighbour, but I became aware that they moved away
without her, so I fed her, and when all my d*gs had gone to RB, she
