| Cat heartworm? | 05 Oct 2004 00:11 GMT | 1 |
I got a postcard from vet saying cats are at risk for heartworm - I don't recall whether it was 20-30% of cats, or 20-30% as often as dgs, or whatever. And of course, they sell the medecine... I balked at the pitch they used to make for dental cleaning (next they'll fill

| Strange defense behaviour! | 04 Oct 2004 17:24 GMT | 2 |
The other night, Cleo Carrington Smith reacted in a strange way to something my partner Robert did. As a back story, I have a "flying carpet" that I sit on to watch TV, as I don't like sitting in chairs. I am a "floor dweller" and

| Missing cat in Nashville, Tennessee | 04 Oct 2004 16:26 GMT | 8 |
No, it isn't my cat that is missing. My boss's next-door-neighbor's cat has been missing for about a week. They have posters up on every telephone pole for several blocks around. The cat is a marmalade (orange-and-white) short-hair,

The other day I visited people who have a really sweet tuxedo cat called Selma. I told them she looked just like the little tuxedo cat on Internet, the one you tickle with the pointer and it purrs or bat at it or swish it's tail ...

One of the things the psychologist had us do when my team was going through the Myers-Briggs training was really fun and helped illustrate the differences between two sets of the "types", "FJ" and "TP". He picked the two most extreme examples of this type (of course I was the "TP") ...

| purrs for a missing d*g | 04 Oct 2004 12:25 GMT | 33 |
Our d*g, Fox, disappeared yesterday and hasn't come home yet. DH is convinced that he's gone RB; I'm not yet ready to admit that. DH is utterly devastated - he has a special bond with Fox. Whilst we wander the streets and put up signs, please could you all apply the special

Many thanks to the Mass folks who wished me rain in Sydney, Australia. It is *pouring* today and is likely to keep up the whole day and I'm very happy. Our down pipes are gurgling and our water tanks are filling - I had a guilt-free shower this morning!

| Leaving Cats | 04 Oct 2004 02:58 GMT | 40 |
We will be travelling for about two weeks in December and our three cats will have to go to a boarding kennel. It almost brings me to tears thinking about this because I know they will be so unhappy, but it's the only option.

That's right, I took an "l" out of her name. It's "Lily" now, like the flower, because she is as pretty as a flower. She left a beautiful young bird laying on the ground right in front of the door. I saw it - belly down, wings spread, head turned to one side - as I
