Hi All! from Kingwood, TX17 Oct 2004 00:03 GMT9
Wow... 840 miles from Highland, Illinois (last weekend) later to a
very nice hotel with a business center about 30 miles from Houston.
With a business center so I can say "Hi!"
Poor Persia is at the vet being boarded but I will see her early next

... is not acting like a cat at death's door. he is *himself*. He is a bit
thinner than he used to be, but he is eating, he is playing, his eyes are
bright, he loves being out in the garden... he is *himself*. The steroid
injection, the beta-blocker and the renal food seem to be ...

New (old) cat toy16 Oct 2004 23:33 GMT28
I have seen references in the past to a toy I FINALLY
located!  The battery operated ball with attached fur
squirrel/raccoon/whatever.  I'm having a little difficulty
with the on/off switch - either it won't stay on or (once in
Otis - how being lost has changed him16 Oct 2004 23:27 GMT31
Otis finally seems all settled, about a month after he was trapped and
brought home.  He ran away from everyone but me when we got home and was
super twitchy.  It is amazing how strongly we are bonded - I guess that
nobody else caters to his craziness like I do and he appreciates ...
'nip sock16 Oct 2004 21:43 GMT21
Another sign Francis is perking up...
After this morning's constitutional round the garden with Nathan, Francis came
in and pounced on his favourite toy - a 'nip sock (one of my old socks with
catnip inside it and the open end knotted closed). Francis decided the 'nip
"Find your way home" purrs needed16 Oct 2004 18:30 GMT32
My little Antonio, a 1 year old semi-feral, has been missing since Monday.
The front screen door is broken, and we've been keeping it locked to keep it
secure so the cats can't get out, but one of us must have forgotten to lock
it.  I had 4 (out of 7) cats get out.  The others ...
Omar would appreciate some feel-better purrs16 Oct 2004 14:59 GMT39
If ya'll could send some get well purrs for Omar; I think we'd both
appreciate it.  On Monday night, he got bit on the foot in a spat with
Tucker.  We spent several hours at the vet Monday night as a walk-in and he
got put on Clavamox.  He's been much less active although eating ...
Still Grumpy!16 Oct 2004 04:56 GMT2
We thought the girls (Cali & Smokey) were finally starting to get along a
little better. They've been sleeping together on the window perch. But it's
also the only open window, now that's it's starting to cool off. So it's
likely that Cali's mellowing has more to do with her ...

Coping with a missing pet15 Oct 2004 14:19 GMT14
I've read the missing cat posts here and in other forums, and I'm always
vicariously worried for the poster.  I've never dealt with this situation
before.  Well, once for half and day, and I thought that was torture.  It
turned out Dash(RB) was in the house the whole time.
Sarah: UPDATE15 Oct 2004 11:44 GMT6
I understand that she came through her surgery well & that the need
for excision wasn't as wideranging as it might have been. Her family
visited her today and report that she's in good spirits & the medical
staff are pleased with her progress so far.
Purrs for Rosie15 Oct 2004 11:36 GMT69
I'm asking for homecoming purrs for Rosie.  I really need her back here in
my arms.  There have been too many loses this past year and I just can't
handle another one.
(In January my mother, my mother's sister Fanny, my dad's sister Ena and my
Fluffy Escapes the Gallows15 Oct 2004 11:25 GMT20
She was looking out the window, and slipped and fell off the widow
sill. This normally would have been a non-event as she would have
landed on her feet and jumped back up or gone on about her business.
But this time she got tangled in the venetian blind cord and hung by
UPDATE on me (Bridget)15 Oct 2004 00:35 GMT32
I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and purrs during the last
week which has been a very trying one.  Joyce was right when she said
she thought I must have had a lot of other things triggered.  I did - by
the tragedy with Eve as well as the torture session my neice went ...
