| <sigh> How Nice | 01 Oct 2004 00:29 GMT | 19 |
It's raining steadily outside, and I'm sitting inside with a nice thick book. My furry little buddy climbs into my lap, does some perfunctory prancing around, and settles down with a rumbling purr. <sigh>

| Smokey gives a speech | 30 Sep 2004 22:55 GMT | 5 |
*Smokey gives a speech* "Hi, I'm Fil's cat Smokey, an' I'm here to talk about my favourite thing ever...not the couch, that's my other favourite thing ever...I'm here to talk about food. My favourite thing to eat is food, and my

| from rec.humor.funny (sick) | 30 Sep 2004 20:30 GMT | 3 |
This was posted on the rec.humor.funny ng, but for those of you who don't read it, I'm reposting it here. It's kinda sick, but definitely on-topic: My brother called me the other day and said that he had watched the

| Jobs purrs needed | 30 Sep 2004 19:21 GMT | 22 |
Nancy has been doing well at her job for the last year or so, but the place she works is making some management changes. The guy that stands to be named as her new boss is someone she knows to be incompetent, is out to get some of the existing employees, and isn't real fond of ...

| Kato--RB (Long) | 30 Sep 2004 16:32 GMT | 17 |
Hi, some of you might remember me. I also post as the Major, from Michigan. I'm owned by Felix, Sabrina, and Talia. I'm mostly a lurker these days, but I felt moved tonight to talk about a friend's friend. My friend from Arizona just emailed me to let me know that he had to

| Catching up | 30 Sep 2004 14:19 GMT | 11 |
My, oh my. One is gone for less than one week and there's around 2400 messages to read! Purrs to all those in need, it will take me a while to catch up. :)

| Purrs for John | 30 Sep 2004 13:41 GMT | 26 |
His friend Larry is taking him for a colonoscopy at 9:30 in the morning. He was not allowed to eat for 24 hours. John suffers from and has been hospitalized twice for diverticulitus and we hope he doesn't have to have surgery to cut out part of his intestine.

| Small snippets | 30 Sep 2004 13:18 GMT | 8 |
Friday was an insanely busy day at the office, to the extent that Tiger didn't get his full ration of scritches, just some perfunctory pats in passing. At one point when DH opened the door, Tiger rushed in, all the way through the lobby and into my office, and hurled

| Drunk falls off the bar stool | 30 Sep 2004 13:08 GMT | 6 |
Well, maybe she wasn't drunk (haven't given them fresh catnip in days!) but Case rolled over in her sleep and fell to the floor with a thump. Sssh! She looked at me to see if I noticed but I kept looking at the monitor so she climbed back on the stool again. Innkeeper! Set'em ...

| What is our cat saying to us? | 30 Sep 2004 07:57 GMT | 51 |
We all get harangued by our cats when they want food or to go outside, or often when their cat boxes need cleaning. For example, my super-smart Vanilla (now RB) would come to where I was, and DEMAND that I get up instantly and take care of whatever she

| Hubert and TED - Questions | 30 Sep 2004 07:24 GMT | 16 |
This afternoon I took Hubert to TED; as long as we were there, he had his second round of shots, which were due later in the week; we also re-affirmed his Giant Kitten status - 4.75 pounds! He's only 9 weeks old! TED said he's the biggest kitten he's ever seen - he's bigger

| Mouse | 30 Sep 2004 05:33 GMT | 16 |
I had my computer into the computer shop to fix my printer and when I got it home the mouse wouldn't work. I tried everything, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Took the computer and mouse back to the computer shop and the youthful guru picked the problem in a flash. "Look," he

| Helping Mommy Decorate | 29 Sep 2004 19:48 GMT | 14 |
It's about a month to go until Samhain (that's Hallowe'en to you non-pagans) and that means it's time to break out the decorations! In years past, I could go all out on decor since Smokey isn't interested in anything that 1. isn't soft to sleep on and 2. isn't

| Visiting your friends cats | 29 Sep 2004 18:35 GMT | 7 |
Some of mine will do this and some of them won't. I'm talking about your cats' behavior when company comes. Smokey is a big moosh for my two friends from Florida (the ones who had been in the path of Hurricane Ivan). Sumo and Lady Jane will come for skritches, but

| HAPPY DANCE! Spot has a home! | 29 Sep 2004 15:24 GMT | 15 |
A couple of years ago, a pretty little orange tabby started showing up on my doorstep. Because his stripes trailed off into little brownish spots, I started calling him Spot. He looks a lot like Little Feet, and is about the same age, so he
