Vale Simon (RB)27 Aug 2004 14:50 GMT36
Sad news here. My brave, beautiful 21 year old ginger moggy Simon
lost his battle with chronic renal failure yesterday and went to
the bridge. My other 4 cats are visibly upset, and I'm
devastated. He'd become very frail and we all knew he would be
Voyage of the Mouser - a Night Raid27 Aug 2004 14:30 GMT18
Sammy and Tabitha crept softly to the door of the cabin and up the stairs to
the quarterdeck.  As they passed the doorway leading to the deck they saw
the silhouette of a man sitting at the rail with a cat on each knee.  Sammy
and Tabitha both crouched low to slink past the doorway ...
Troublesome Threesome Piccies Added27 Aug 2004 08:55 GMT3

The newest ones start with Ernie on the antique Moroccan footstool.  I have
two of these things, one like the donkey/burro as seen in the pic, and one
like a camel - my father bought them while in Morocco during his US Air
Sheba talks27 Aug 2004 03:38 GMT10
For several weeks now Sheba has been doing something peculiar. When
she is about halfway through her bowl of food, she starts talking,
with her mouth full. It makes me think of some times when I have been
extremely hungry and wolf my food down and say things like, "Boy, I'm
Back from wedding26 Aug 2004 17:13 GMT7
Jim & I are back from our daughter's wedding.  The power of purr is truly
impressive.  Not only did Tropical Storm Earl dissolve and we did not have
to worry about leaving Rosie and Cinder, the weather was perfect for the
wedding in the park.
Goodbye Rory26 Aug 2004 03:19 GMT24
I just got a very sad email from my friends back home in Canada.  Seems that
their cat Rory got out and got run over by a car out in front of their
house.  They have 2 small kids and were building a deck and things got crazy
and he escaped :-(
Tales from the Mouser - Medical Logs26 Aug 2004 02:16 GMT1
Kitty Schottland and Selena dealt with all medical cases on the
voyage.  Most of the time it was just routine, for most of the kitties
managed to keep themselves from getting injured.
Here's a few excerpts from Kitty's medical log
Tiny Grey Tabby: Reply from The House of Mews26 Aug 2004 01:06 GMT2
I normally wouldn't share an email on a usenet group, but I doubt the
founder of The House of Mews would mind.  This is about that tiny tabby
kitten and also about the woman who keeps feeding cats without doing
anything to rehome or otherwise help them.

Former Fearsome Foursome Update25 Aug 2004 21:21 GMT2
With Minne having been adopted, I'm not sure what to call the three that are
still here.  Terrified Trio???  Troublesome Threesome???
Moe is getting her big kitty teeth!  Ernie (as big as he is) and Mimi still
have baby teeth.  The ringworm seems to have gone (yay).  Mimi has ...
Crackle's Meowmie's hurricaine update25 Aug 2004 20:38 GMT4
Just thought I'd pass along her post that I just saw over in Yahoo.
Sounds like they had quite a bit of property damage, and still no
power or phone service, but no injuries. Anyway, here's her post:
"Hello. A quick note to let you guys know we made it thru the
Purrs for a tiny abandoned kitten25 Aug 2004 19:16 GMT36
If there are any nurturing purrs to spare, can you send some for a tiny
kitten who was found on the street yesterday by a friend's children who
live in Belgium? It's a little black & white baby, and was alone on the
street. She has been to the vet with the kitten and they think it ...
Close call25 Aug 2004 17:27 GMT5
Thank goodness Maine Coons apparently have intelligence and like to learn.
As big a doofus as Joe Kitty is - and he's a BIG doofus - he has learned a
few things that I have requested of him regarding behavior.
One of them is "No claws" on peoples.
MY BELOVED BON BON25 Aug 2004 15:23 GMT34
I have been known to avoid this very special group because of the number
of sad stories posted here.   Nevertheless, when something important
happens in my cat family, I find that I must share it with you  --  as I
have for over three yers now.
Adorable Cat Art25 Aug 2004 15:15 GMT3
I found this  card in the National Gallery in Washington, DC.  Of
course I couldn't resist this adorable little fellow:
