I've been looking for a picture of my old cat for ages, and couldn't find
one. We move too much, so things get buried. Finally, while cleaning in
prep for upcoming move, I found it (and another of me holding her when she
was a kitten).  There are only a small handful of pictures ...
More Brandy news!28 Aug 2004 13:29 GMT6
Brandy just came home today from her spaying, and God be praised she's
fine, though higher than a kite. The vet gave her some kind of IV
anaesthesia, and pain pills for her foster-mama to take home. She's
spacey, I'm told, but getting on her feet again and getting into

I'm just posting this for whatever... expiation... might only get condemnation

Good News, We Hope: OT, Probably Long, Boring and all the other warnings28 Aug 2004 12:03 GMT87
We went up to see the Neurosurgeon, Dr Ewend, at UNC (Chapel Hill)
today, and he said that he doesn't think that Rob's tumor is coming
back.  However, they're having Rob's MRI films reviewed by a group of
specialists this afternoon, and we'll find out what they say tomorrow.

Our new little girl was supposed to have been spayed Wednesday, but they
found she's allergic to the anaesthetic. So she will be going to a
different clinic where they use a different one, and have her operation
Tuesday. She's okay, God be praised. Her foster mama will be there to

Death of Kubler-Ross28 Aug 2004 07:47 GMT2
Apparently, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross died (I hadn't heard this). But I
saw this post on the newsgroup rec.humor.funny, and it made me chuckle.
It's not in bad taste - actually, I find it rather affectionate:
> I was reading my morning paper, and saw that Elisabeth Kubler-Ross,
Help!  Tiny Tabby28 Aug 2004 05:49 GMT23
I stepped out on my patio this morning to dump the dregs of the parrot seed
for the birds and there was a tiny grey tabby sitting there.  I'm no good at
guessing the age of kittens but it's smaller than Tallulah's little Hubert!
Obviously a stray, possibly abandoned by mama-cat (or ...

I really, really don't need a fourth cat.

Basho is a music critic28 Aug 2004 00:06 GMT25
Kinda. We were watching TV (can you see a theme for this weekend?) and I
had Basho on my chest, his favorite spot. There was a catchy tune that I
started whistling (is that the right spelling?). Basho looked at me with
really big eyes and proceeded to bat my mouth with his paw. I ...

Bad Sammy (hee hee) BAD!28 Aug 2004 00:06 GMT11
A little while ago I heard someone banging the kitchen cupboards.
Sammy regularly opens any cupboard she can reach, and when I looked I
could see her standing on her hind legs pawing the cupboard. When I
told her "NO!" she sat down and looked at me. A couple minutes later I

Most cats say Meow in one form or another. Fritzie was known to go on
marathon meow fits and spew forth words of six syllables, and loudly.
Stosh will say a low-pitched, quiet "mrow-row" before tearing off to
practice for the qualifiers at the Kittyanapolis 500.
Take that, you arrogant kitten!27 Aug 2004 20:24 GMT1
Arthur, being a kitten, is, shall we say, somewhat lacking in proper
social etiquette.  His concept of trying to get the big cats to play
with him is to smack them, taunt them, and otherwise annoy them.
This morning, his first target of Internet failed, as Internet took
