Some excellent cat cartoons14 Aug 2004 17:01 GMT1
For those who like cartoons about cats, not cute ones, but a little
more real, there's an excellent collection of cartoons right now on a

Sad Anniversary14 Aug 2004 16:08 GMT8
It was one year ago August 10 that Prissy went to the RB at age 19.
It's hard to believe that it's been a year already.  She was a petite
cat and was my "child" for most of her life. She was never exposed to
cats except going to the vet and I believe she thought of herself as a

Weeble's Birthday!14 Aug 2004 06:07 GMT13
Weeble's birthday - his First - is officially marked in his file at TED's at
8/18/03, but I plan on celebrating it on the 22nd, as that's the day I
brought the tiny little buggar into the house.  I made a big to-do out of
his 1/2 birthday, and now I'm not sure what to do for his ...
Language correction by alpha cat14 Aug 2004 00:51 GMT5
Last night, I had Mr. Clark, Rhonda, and Ding on the bed, socializing.
They were adopted together, and while biologically unrelated, Mr. Clark
(around 5) has always acted parental to the two younger ones. Rhonda and
Ding are now a little over 2, and, as far as they are concerned, ...
Travel purrs13 Aug 2004 18:01 GMT11
I am going home for my nephews wedding and would appreciate safe travel
purrs and purrs for the kitties to stay healthy and safe. I'm really fine
once I get on the road, but I am delaying by reading the newsgroups. I'm not
all happy about this trip other than I get to see my mom. I ...
Another of "My favourite things"13 Aug 2004 17:57 GMT1
I love it when Persia snuggles up next to me, drapes a paw over my hand and
then gently lays her head on my hand, too.  Soft fuzzy love.  And she's
always purring gently when she does that :)

RPCA accessible on the net13 Aug 2004 05:52 GMT1
Not sure if this is old news or not, but I happened to stumble over a
website called Pet Manual Forum, and it seems to provide access to a few
pet related ng's, among others our "very own" rpca too.
I seem to remember someone once asking if rpca was accessible without a
Purrs on the way to those in the path of Hunrricaine Bonnie13 Aug 2004 04:50 GMT3
I haven't really been following the weather, but just happened to read
in the Yahoo catslave group that Crackles' meowmie is rounding up the
family pets and getting ready for Bonnie's arrival. So, thought I'd
send out purrs for all in the path of the storm.
Minnie update x213 Aug 2004 04:47 GMT2
I hadn't heard from Laura in a while, so I emailed her (using DH's
crybabyish whining as an excuse), and got TWO emails from her:
"Hi there! Don't think you are bothering me! I've been meaning to update you
on how things were going, so thanks for the reminder! Things here are going

Pete the hospital cat caught a mouse!!!
Unfortunately I was not there to see it.  I heard it from Mike, a
coworker of mine.  He had walked into the breakroom and saw Pete
staring intently at something behind a box.  Pete pounces and Mike
Rather too close to home12 Aug 2004 09:06 GMT1
There has been talk of West Nile Virus arriving in California the last two
summers, and there have been a infected birds in other counties, etc.
So last week when I got up and there was a dead Magpie in the back yard I
put it in a plastic bag and looked up where you are supposed to ...
Kitty FC update12 Aug 2004 07:11 GMT8
Kitty has made it through the night, but vets are still concerned about her
as she will not eat.
Nothing particularly significant has shown up on the bloods, although it is
clear that there is *something* wrong with her.
And you thought the two-legged kids made things awkward...12 Aug 2004 00:03 GMT6
I am not sure that there is any delicate way to say this... but cats
have, um, a UNIQUE way of communicating...
Last night Hubby and I were settling in for some alone time, when Hubby
gets goosed by a very cold, wet nose right where the Good Lord split
TW: Quetzie's RB anniversary11 Aug 2004 23:14 GMT12
Five years ago today, our beloved Quetzie left us for the RB. He was an
awesome cat, a sweet and gentle soul who taught me just how much you can
love an "animal" and how much they can love you back.
A few pictures of my baby boy can be found here:
