| Silly foster kittens | 18 Aug 2004 12:19 GMT | 4 |
My two foster kittens Mocha and Latte, about 13 weeks old, do the strangest things. They are borderline semi-feral, they don't like to be touched and back away when approached. I can pet them as long as I come up from behind. Anyway, here are some of the weird things they do:

| Going to a wedding | 18 Aug 2004 12:06 GMT | 8 |
I'm sending purrs and prayers in advance for those in need. Tomorrow, Jim and I will be flying to the Northwest for our daughter's wedding. This is the daughter who rescued a litter of barn kittens a couple of months ago and managed to tame, vet, and find homes for all six kittens ...

| Brandy Update! | 18 Aug 2004 07:29 GMT | 6 |
We got a call from the nice shelter lady Marilyn, who is foster-mama to Brandy and several other kitties as well as her own furbabies. Brandy's spaying is Wednesday. We've elected to take her the Thursday before Labor Day, mostly to let her recover and to give her extra time with me

| Two cats, one mind | 18 Aug 2004 01:07 GMT | 7 |
It's always struck me as funny how Frank and Nikki often echo or mirror each other's position, whether they are sleeping or sitting or walking. When they do that, I call them my twins, though they're not siblings. Here are some examples of what I mean:

| Arthur's Booster | 17 Aug 2004 17:37 GMT | 3 |
Yesterday was the very last day I could get Arthur's distemper booster without having to start all over again. Luckily, the same Dr. Beer and staff were at Petco, and my kind ex-husband was willing to run us over there to do this, plus pick up food and litter. And then run me

| Memo to self | 17 Aug 2004 13:42 GMT | 9 |
When you buy a cat toy with plastic pouch of catnip attached, *do not* leave said pouch out where the cats can get at it. (When I came home from work today, the pouch had been shredded and there was catnip *everywhere*. It must have been an orgy.)

| Baby Eyes has forgiven me | 17 Aug 2004 11:57 GMT | 3 |
After about two weeks of solitary sulking in the spare bedroom over the new kittens, last night Baby Eyes spent most of the evening in my lap, purring and giving me wet kisses. When I woke up today she was on my pillow, kneading my hair. Then she crawled into the neck opening of my ...
