| Patrick update - Cause of death found | 15 Jul 2004 03:14 GMT | 3 |
I forgot to post this sooner: Last Friday the vet who did Patrick's autopsy told us he died from eating hemp dogbane. Livestock normally won't touch it, but Patrick did. Some babies will try anything once, and Patrick was a very "mouthy" baby, from

| We have wildlife!! | 15 Jul 2004 00:08 GMT | 10 |
Since Hobo and Speckles are now indoor-only cats, it's amazing how the wildlife around here has increased and multiplied! Speckles was always the Mighty Huntress (laid-back Hobo could hardly care less) and did her best to decimate the chipmunk population, in addition to

| Incredibly cute | 14 Jul 2004 23:57 GMT | 20 |
The vole is sitting in the corner of its temporary home, grasping a peanut in its front paws and nibbling on it as if it's the last peanut on earth and is to be savoured. The nut is being rotated in the voles paws as vole teeth nibble. It's a very cute little thing :-)

| One year anniversary (late) | 14 Jul 2004 22:36 GMT | 10 |
I just realized it's been just over one year since we adopted Fez and Rufous! Rufous is a healthy 12 lbs (5.4 kg) ball of orange fur and his brother Fez is a slender 11.5 lbs (5.2 kg) of mischief. They are such good boys and we are so happy to have them with us.

A man was walking down a deserted Mexican beach at sunset. As he walked along he began to see another man in the distance. As he grew nearer he noticed that the local native kept leaning down, picking something up, and throwing it out into

| Kenzie and The Chair | 14 Jul 2004 13:40 GMT | 2 |
One of Kenzie's favorite spots is a cloth covered padded kitchen chair. She often naps on it, or just meatloafs on it. Several days ago, I left the chair pulled out, and I started to notice that Kenzie would jump up on it when I came into the kitchen, and trill

| OT: Dehydrating Fruit? | 14 Jul 2004 06:19 GMT | 23 |
Sorry for the OT; but does anybody know how to dehydrate fruit in the oven? We are covered up with white grapes, peaches and blackberries and soon apples and pears. I was thinking. We buy trail mix stuff to feed the squirrels in the winter, and wondered why I can't just preserve ...

I caught up with Britta and Dennis here in Purrth on Sunday morning. They picked me up from my house and met Arthur cat even before they got to my front door. He was rather shy at first, but then decided he quite liked the attention and spent quite a while

| Purrs For The Shirks | 14 Jul 2004 05:47 GMT | 23 |
I talked to Pam today and she requested purrs/prayers for her family. Rob had a little difficulty and had to go to the ER. She said they thought it was due to the high altitude. She called from Strasburgh, Colorado. I hope I understood her correctly, but I did understand that all ...
