Barn kittens update 509 Jun 2004 03:14 GMT2
Christine reports that this morning Spitty gave in and purred while being
held. She said that he will sit on her lap and look up at her and hiss when
she picks him up and pets him, but then he purrs. Today he was rolling
around and letting her rub his tummy.
Blissful morning09 Jun 2004 02:40 GMT22
Frank has been waking me up at 4.30 lately. Not this morning. It was nearly
6 when I awoke to bright sunshine and birdsong outside. I'd left the balcony
door open overnight because it was a hot day yesterday (OK, hot by Finnish
standards; it was 20 C).
[OT][Geek] Transit of Venus09 Jun 2004 00:05 GMT20
Just reminding the geeks out there that the transit of Venus is tomorrow
(the 8th of June)
No-one alive has seen one, because the last one happened in 1882!
Its how Australia got discovered by Captain Cook in 1770 - he was trying to
Wolfie catches a flying critter08 Jun 2004 23:32 GMT13
There was an annoying flying bug of some sort last night, buzzing
about my head to my great distraction and irritation.  Wolfie kindly
watched, and suddenly stood up on his hind legs on the couch, smacked
his front paws together, and voila!  Dead bug.
Fearsome Foursome Update08 Jun 2004 23:20 GMT13
Eenie is getting HUGE, has the appetite of a lion, and has to be fed
separately or else she growls and pushes the others away from the food dish
(they are eating a mix of canned kitten food and powdered KMR)
Meanie still has the sore on her paw, but it is getting better.  No word on
Barn kittens update 408 Jun 2004 14:11 GMT13
Just got a call from Christine. Great progress!
This morning she went in to feed the kittens. She called for Buddy, who now
comes to his name.  He came out from under the dresser and called out number
2 and pounced on him/her, and then called out each of the others and pounced
Mystery solved08 Jun 2004 11:13 GMT1
As you probably know, I run a little kitty cafe for the neighborhood
cats here. (Rocky is self-appointed maitre d', and usually sits in the
lawn chair and watches the comings and goings.) I fill the bowl when
Rocky comes in for the night. All the cats around here have homes now,
Home again from Best Friends08 Jun 2004 04:45 GMT4
My son, Chris, and I are back from our ten days at Best Friends Animal
Sanctuary (and only 1497 RPCA posts to catch up on).
Some of  you asked me to tell you all about it - - but I'd have to
write a book, only to barely scratch the surface!
Barn kittens update 207 Jun 2004 14:20 GMT10
Saturday, the mother cat returned her kittens to the barn.  My daughter
found them and was able to scoop all four up and take them into the house,
where they promptly went under the dresser in the kitten room.
Buddy, their brother, who had been enjoying the life of a pampered cat ...
OT for Hugh Jackman fans07 Jun 2004 14:12 GMT2
Just watched him get his Tony for Boy from Oz. I decided to see if the show
had a site and it does  www.theboyfromoz.com.  Found out my old friend from
the Black Hills Playhouse, Jarrod Emick is in it! Wow. I worked with a guy
who now works with Hugh Jackman! Go figure :)
Bad timing07 Jun 2004 05:13 GMT1
Today started out pretty good. Momma Little Bit and Rocky teamed up to
wake the hoomin so that we'd get some breakfast. Once he finally
stumbled into the kitchen we chowed down and he made himself some of
that evil smelling muddy water.
Buster's latest adventures07 Jun 2004 01:53 GMT1
Cold Blue Paws
We have some of those "blue goo in a bag" icepacks. Last night, Senyah
was using one.
When Senyah put the icepack on the bed, Buster leaned a little forward
Fluffy's a Good Hunter06 Jun 2004 23:04 GMT2
Ever since she chose us to move in with, we had never seen her do
anything but sleep, eat, demand to be petted, and sit, smiling, on the
catnip scratching board, but yesterday she showed her true feline
instincts and caught two mice.
Poor Andy - foster kitty06 Jun 2004 22:38 GMT5
Before I left for Dallas, all of my babies went up for adoption.  Adele's
babies went up the week before, I fully expected them all to be gone when I
dropped Adele, Eli and Ella off last week.  There was poor little Andy,
stuck in a cage by himself.  I could not believe it - out of ...
Harvey: Things He Doesn't Understand06 Jun 2004 21:52 GMT27
Things Harvey Doesn't Understand
1) That blocking my way to the food, by standing three microns away from my
feet is illogical. I have to be able to move in order to get to the food.
2) That we close the door to the enclosed decks, even if he runs out there.
