Sewing With Cats01 Jul 2004 00:51 GMT12
I decided to kill some time yesterday and use up some fabric remnants I had
around. So I made "purr pads" for the cats at the shelter...a fabric square
with a cotton backing, fleece top and quilted with batting in between, big
enough for a cat to lie on.. Before I sew it up, I lace ...
The Trip01 Jul 2004 00:35 GMT5
On Friday morning, I was getting ready for the trip out to the island. I
always put the harnesses on the cats for the trip, though they travel in the
Sherpa bag, just in case of an emergency and I have to take them out of the
bag.

I have thought about you alot since you lost Eric, and your latest posting
touched me deeply.
Below is a poem that was given to me twenty year ago - I hope you find some
comfort in the words.
Another cat quote, (Kenzie endorsed!)30 Jun 2004 21:40 GMT2
Never belittle the comfort offered by a cat - she has no words, but by small
touchings, and buttings and leanings, she shows her love for you - and tries to
distract you from your sorrow.

Ear Mites?30 Jun 2004 21:32 GMT4
Natasha has never been a cat that's sensitive about her ears. However,
over the last few weeks it's gotten so that any contact with them
causes her to flip them (the "make whatever's touching me go away"
flip). She also started rubbing her ears on the corners of furniture.
Back from a long weekend (and a long post!)30 Jun 2004 21:29 GMT5
Well, just as I was recovering from being miserably sick, I had to do
my one big weekend a year that brings me 25% or more of my business.
So I haven't read the group for five days!  I'm suffering withdrawal!
Purrs to all who need them, congratulations to all who deserve them,
Well, off we go!30 Jun 2004 20:15 GMT3
Leaving wednesday morning.
I'm gonna be busy getting the last bit of stuff taken care of tomorrow, so i
won't have time for froups likely.
See you all on the flipside!
General purrs for the bereaved30 Jun 2004 20:07 GMT10
I'm afraid I've been out of action for a while following brief
hospitalisation to sort out a renegade root canal infection, so I'd
like to issue a belated mega-purr to those of the Group who've
recently been bereaved, or whose nearest & dearest have suffered a
Winter in June30 Jun 2004 18:23 GMT45
I still can't quite wrap my mind around the fact that it's June in the USA
and hot as h*ll, and the catslaves in Australia and New Zealand are talking
about winter and coming cold weather. It's like when my husband tried to
explain to me that events that occurred in deep space ...

Volunteering today30 Jun 2004 04:47 GMT7
Celeste and I have decided to start socializing cats and dogs down at our
local animal humane society.  Celeste already is party of junior animal
humane where kids work to help socialize dogs for adoption and I found out
that if I volunteer too, I can also get time for these kids to ...
We are off!29 Jun 2004 20:31 GMT15
Tomorrow morning I will put the cats in their Sherpa bag (sounds easy,
doesn't it?) and then we are off to the island. Luckily, there is room for
me in my brother's car, so I won't have to regale a busload of people with
Frank's rendering of the hit song, "Oh, Look What My Cruel ...
Mubu and Angel:  RB29 Jun 2004 20:20 GMT11
The usual great cats.
Both distinguished by deep, resonant "meows", late at night when I might
go to the kitchen for a glass of water, or to the bathroom.
They were my girlfriend's cats.  When I met them, they lived on top of
Baby foal Patrick is dead29 Jun 2004 20:18 GMT43
We don't know why yet. We just found him laying in the pasture. He was not
acting sick in the least, and his body did not appear to have been injured
in any way. He was already stiff and cold when we found him, and he had a
small amount of white foam in one nostril. Gloria will be ...
<SHRIEK> Baby Kittens!!29 Jun 2004 19:35 GMT15
Here's the pics of the little poly kitten I told you all about. He came in all
by himself, poor thing. He can't be much over 8 weeks old.  I am going back to
get him in the morning. I have a pretty strong prospect who wants to look at
him Saturday. I'll find him a home. Yes. Really ...
