Hot Day in Maryland25 May 2004 00:57 GMT4
After finishing yardword (as much as I can stand when its 93 degrees out,
thermometer said 98 in the sun), showering, and finally getting something
to eat (too hot to eat), I'm hanging out downstairs watching tv, doing
laundry, reading Usenet and writing email. I propped open the ...
Can cats catch a human cold?24 May 2004 18:10 GMT2
Last week I had a bad cold. I feel much better now but my youngest
indoor only cat is now sneezing and doing little kitty coughs. So far
Psycho, my oldest, hasn't gotten the cold yet. But did I give the cat my
cold? Is this possible? Thanks.
PING: Frank!24 May 2004 17:32 GMT1
Frank,
I really must protest. You are distracting Waffles from her hunting duties. It
can be the only explanation. There is a mole in my garden which is digging up
my lawn *again*....
OT: Tornado purrs24 May 2004 16:59 GMT40
We were struck with terrible storms tonight. Lincoln really lucked out,
though I was pretty nervous for a while, but several communities just south
a few miles have been badly hit. One town is reported GONE. Purrs and
prayers for people, kitties, livestock etc would be appreciated. ...
Handsome elderly gentleman out for his constitutional24 May 2004 15:56 GMT37
... though the red harness does spoil the impression a bit. His own harness
is so tatty that he borrowed Nikki's harness today.

Two movies24 May 2004 15:18 GMT5
I just got back from Shrek 2. It was *at least* as good as the first
one.
And you will just love what they have done with the Puss in Boots
character. I laughed 'til I cried. Oh, and Antonio Banderas voices
Cinnamon and ice cream24 May 2004 05:05 GMT1
With the return of warm weather we have started having ice cream again.
Cinnamon knows the sound of the ice cream sandwich being opened. This year
we had the ice cream about 4 times before she remembered the sound. When I
start of unwrap the ice cream she will come over and wait for ...
Cats & TV24 May 2004 04:53 GMT5
Do any of you have cats who do something in particular when a certain
show or person is on the TV?  My youngest cat, Anya, likes to attack
the television whenever the opening credits of Days of Our Lives is
on.  I'm not sure if she's trying to tell me that she likes the show
Little Feet likes stinky cheese24 May 2004 04:34 GMT3
I have to stay out of the cheese aisles at the store, because I will
spend a lot of money on cheese. This week, I brought home some
too-mild jalepeno havarti (which was still good by havarti standards),
and some gorgonzola (a good sharp bleu cheese - I LIKE sharp cheese).
Repeat Posting: Persia during Tornado Warning24 May 2004 04:07 GMT2
In the aftermath of the tornadoes in Nebraska, Iowa and Ohio (purrs to all),
I am reminded of one early morning a couple of years ago.
I live on the outskirts of Memphis, TN.  I had *no* idea the new tornado
sirens talked.  I woke up one morning around 3:00 AM to a raging wind and
Why do I never have a camera??24 May 2004 03:15 GMT10
Persia was sitting on the windowsill, meatloafing in the sunshine, nicely
framed by two african violets in baskets.  By the time I loaded the diskette
into my Sony Mavica she got up and wandered over to meow at me and see what
I was doing.  Dang, it would have been a great shot!
We're on our way23 May 2004 22:43 GMT11
Hi -    My son, Chris, and I are heading for Utah tomorrow where we're
scheduled for ten days of volunteer work at Best Friends Animal
Sanctuary.  Since  we're cat people, and they have about 600 cats
there, naturally we'll be working with the kitties, but we also plan
Corrected URL for photos of my fursis23 May 2004 21:57 GMT8
Nan,
Thank you for letting me know that the URL I had posted did not work.
That's what happens when you fail to check the URL before you post.
Something to do with Murphy :)
My Little Visitor23 May 2004 21:55 GMT13
We were actually able to coax him inside for a little while last
night, rather to Felix's disgust :-).

Bob's pretty convinced the little guy has humans of his own, but I'm
Purina Indoor dry cat food23 May 2004 21:53 GMT12
Any of you using the Purina Indoor formula cat food?  Our cats go on strike
if we don't keep a bowl full in their eating area at all times.  By the way
our cats are totally indoor out door cats.  They have unlimited access to
the outside, but they use the litter box, eat and drink ...
