Well, after my aged mobile gave up the ghost, I have got myself a new one.
Guess what sound the ringtone is?
Yup - a cat meowing ;-)

Thermo-chipping08 May 2004 05:21 GMT15
I just read this in "The Cat" magazine, it sounds interesting.
Taking the temperature of a pet need no longer be a headache for vets,
thanks to a new implantable biosensor technology. The *Identichip with
bio-Thermo* makes it possible to take a temperature reading in the same way
Question08 May 2004 03:30 GMT5
I was given a 5 1/2 week old kitten for a Mother's Day gift.  I've never had a
cat this young.
Are liquid bowel movements normal or does she have a problem??

Memories of Franny Cat08 May 2004 02:50 GMT8
She was a stray kitten.  Landed on the doorstep of my brothers work partner,
who was allergic to cats.  So she came to the office, and I claimed her and
she would sit in my chair with me as I worked.
She was named to go with a friends cat, Zooey, although they were both
Welcome new baby!!!07 May 2004 22:45 GMT29
We had a birthing last night. One of my father's horses finally dropped her
colt sometime between 10pm and 7am this morning.
I haven't seen him yet, it's raining and I didn't want to drag the kidlets
outside long enough to walk to the barn but I bet he's a cutie!!
Update:Bloodbath07 May 2004 18:05 GMT20
Well, the visit to TED shed no light on the source of the blood.  All claws
are accounted for, Pippin and Fizz's mouths look fine. Ears look fine too.
Behaviorally, we are going to try Buspar for Pippin and Amitryptiline for
Fizz for 6-8 weeks to see if that helps.  Either way, ...
Update on Gabby07 May 2004 18:00 GMT3
Thanks so much for the purrs, they seemed to have helped! She did eat a
little this morning, but I took her to the vets anyway. The vet couldn't
find anything wrong with her! She told me to keep an eye on her, and if she
didn't act better by tomorrow am, to bring her back. When I ...

OK, I can't resist posting this joke, which I just received today.
It fits in with a recent discussion. Some of you won't like it, and
some, I'm sure, will love it. YMMV!

deer ticks and lyme07 May 2004 01:39 GMT14
Will cats get bit and carry/spread/catch lyme disease?
Do the usual shots prevent this?
Boston news criers are warning about lots of ticks this year.

ok, so im 90%sure im keeping the sweet declawed cat that i have right now

What would you do to save a cat? (short)06 May 2004 22:35 GMT12
My adventure this evening is really long, so I'm going to post a short
and long version of it.
Basically, I was following two Rottweilers, thinking they were strays.
I pull up to this house in time to see one of them shaking a gray
Bad Issa!!!06 May 2004 16:33 GMT17
Yesterday Issa did something I'd never experienced before. We were
reading the paper in the morning, and I saw him standing by the
fireplace looking at us. His tail was straight up and I noticed it
shaking in a very unusual fashion. I got close, and sure enough, he had
Okay - how'd they do THAT?06 May 2004 15:45 GMT7
Sticking out of the gel wrist guard of my mouse pad at a jaunty angle was
one lone cat whisker.
Is the mouse pad turning into a cat, or are the cats getting artistic?

Was this the guy who wrote that sex advice column, who always had his
writers address him as "Hey, faggot!"? If so, then yes, I used to enjoy
You're *Doing* It Wrong!06 May 2004 04:37 GMT2
If you've seen the movie Mr. Mom, you know the line.  Unfortunately,
Mookie's seen it too, and has taken to using said quote on a fairly
regular basis these days.
Here I am, trying to be a good mother.  Does he appreciate it?  I don't
