Hi gang.  Just posted new pics of my two remaining fosters, as well as
Licorice and Baby Max.  Please feel free to "ooh and aah" over them! :)
Penelope Marie Shirk RB  (long)16 May 2004 21:47 GMT45
Miss Penelope Marie Shirk died early this morning from her Leukemia.
She was about four years old and should have lived to be more than twenty.
For those who are unfamiliar with Penny's story.  We found her shivering
and starving on the wood pile stacked on our front patio in ...
Purrs for a Peaceful Passing16 May 2004 16:25 GMT20
This is such a wonderful group of folks, I wonder if I could ask for
some purrs for a friend of mine and her kitty, Blessing.
One year ago tomorrow, my friend's mother passed away and she went
home to deal with the house, estate, etc.  While dealing with all of
Persia is glad I'm home!16 May 2004 14:58 GMT12
I returned from my trip after only 3 days rather than the planned 6.  My
old/new love is back in the hospital yet again :(
Immediately, before doing anything else, drove to the vet to pick her up.
She yowled the entire ride home.  Once we go home, she had to check out
Notable cat people16 May 2004 14:55 GMT5
I noticed today when the CEO of Visa was wishing the Preakness crowd luck (I
am STILL shaking!!! What a race!! GOOOOO SMARTY!! History is about to be
made.) that there was a big framed picture of a tuxeda cat behind him. I
figure it really must be his office because I don't think a ...

Anyone watching Eurovision this weekend?  And does anyone have any
particular favourites as yet?
Hey, I figured something out!!16 May 2004 11:46 GMT2
I was at work today and picking the fur of multiple felines off of a
white t-shirt, when something clicked in my mind.  I've figured out why
cats HAVE to rub themselves all over our clothes.  They're leaving
tracers so that they can mentally think about us and know exactly what
Wild animals at large16 May 2004 07:07 GMT24
Well, I've gotten used to the cats trying to mess with my mind. It's
the wild animals who are messing with me now.
A couple of nights ago, I started to unlatch the door so I could go
out and call for Buster. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something
HI ALL (AND THANKS, FLIPPY!)16 May 2004 05:18 GMT8
I was reading in my room a few minutes ago.  It was late and except for
the sound of the dishwasher , the house was quiet. Suddenly, this
adorable tiny white face appeared under the edge of my book.
It was The Lady Jazz, of course.  I held her and talked to her and
Vino learned his lesson!16 May 2004 04:06 GMT11
For the past few weeks, Vino has been being very bratty in the mornings.  He
starts trying to wake me up at 5:30 am and chews on the electrical cords.
This always makes me wake up really fast!
I had put Tabasco sauce on the cords and that kept him at bay for a few
The Terrible Tail15 May 2004 20:26 GMT15
I had just gotten up to get DH some breakfast when the "Terrible
Tail" struck again.  Crash, clatter, clatter!
The terrible tail is the one attached to my boy Sumo.  He was
walking through the work area of my desk to get to the window shelf
Another "big cat" story15 May 2004 18:01 GMT3
How would you like to give *this* cat a ride in your car?

Waffles15 May 2004 16:56 GMT2
loves it when I mow the lawn. Just finished doing the task. All the while I was
out there, the mowing brought up small insects from the grass. There was a pied
wagtail (see http://www.rspb.org.uk/birds/guide/p/piedwagtail/index.asp )
following me around feasting away on the insects ...
BAH!15 May 2004 16:29 GMT28
I am sitting with the rescue box next to me (shoe box with air holes put in the
top...). In it is a robin fledgling.
BAH!
Marble sneaked out this evening, unbeknown to me. I'm sitting on the downstairs
