Bruiser's first birthday30 Mar 2004 12:02 GMT27
Since it is after midnight, Bruiser turned one year old today.  He has
turned out to be quite the cat.  Just seems like yesterday when he was
this tiny little thing who would climb up on me because he was afraid of
the grass.  Now he's a big strapping fuzzy teenager with the ...

Leopards, Etc29 Mar 2004 22:10 GMT2
I went to a presentation of live wildcats today given by an organization
called "Leopards, Etc". The company consists of a husband and wife who
have been working with wild cats for more than 20 years and have a large
facility where they keep about 20 animals. Then they have public ...
I Have a Story...29 Mar 2004 17:20 GMT9
Ya'll listen to this. It's just weird.
Bootsie & Biskit were scrapping a little this morning, so I took Biskit back to
her room, gave her some food and shut the door to separate them. I didn't hear
a peep out of her and sort of forgot about her. A couple of hours later, I went
Get the Bug!29 Mar 2004 15:01 GMT13
It's so funny... I can call Persia to pounce on, play with or otherwise
bother any little bug that gets in my house.  Last night I was in the
bathroom and saw a silverfish in the bathtub.  "PERSIA!  Come here!"  She
came running.  Meow?  I tapped the tub.  She jumped up, saw the bug ...
[OT] humorous dumb-burglar story29 Mar 2004 06:39 GMT1
I heard a news item on National Public Radio today about a woman who
woke up to find a burglar asleep on the bed, next to her and her
husband.  The burglar was sound enough asleep that she was able to
climb out of bed, flee the house, and call the police without waking
Dr Suess Anyone?29 Mar 2004 06:24 GMT10
Hi there.  I need help naming my fosters - I've decided to use characters in
Dr. Suess books, but my brain doesn't remember some of them.  I've got Sam
(green eggs and ham Sam I am), and Horton (Horton hears a who).  I need one
more.
Felix's Wounded Pride29 Mar 2004 05:20 GMT33
Felix frequently hops up on the edge of the tub while I'm soaking. He
seems to want attention and water in about equal quantities [and has
been known to taste-test bubble bath :-)].
This evening, he tried to get up there, slipped, and partially fell
Am I living in a Soap Opera?29 Mar 2004 02:49 GMT27
Relationships around here are no longer like they are supposed to be
in the world of cats. The pecking order no longer rules. Now I
sometimes feel like I am living in a soap opera.
For many years Amber has been the top cat with Djoser trying to oust
RB Stray Cat29 Mar 2004 02:41 GMT20
A stray cat had been hanging around the office for a week or so.  He
stayed close, but never let us near him.  He would come to the door
and yell for food, and spent most of the rest of his time in a
miserable-looking huddle.  When one of the other cats would approach
Krista - how's Mike doing?29 Mar 2004 02:36 GMT17
Hey Krista:
Have I missed an update since you posted that the reduced dosage seemed to
be working better for Mike?  Is he still doing ok?  Is he still a lovebug?

Schedule Change at work does not = schedule change in Persia29 Mar 2004 02:29 GMT10
I'm temporarily working 8:30 - 5:00 instead of my usual 7:00 - 3:30 shift.
This has been the case for the last 2 weeks.  However, Persia haw not
changed HER 'shift' ROFL
She's still trying to wake me up at 5:00 a.m.  I don't have to get up until
bed hunting29 Mar 2004 00:29 GMT5
Dave (DH) and I admitted this weekend that we had to bite the bullet
and fork out for a new bed - our old one (which we've had for more
than 10 years and was second-hand when we got it) is begging to be
retired to the great mattress heaven in the sky.
Emergency Purrs28 Mar 2004 20:13 GMT23
My mom's silver persian, Nermalee, who is 16 is at the vets. Her heart is
not so good I guess. SHe has lost a pound, so that makes her REALLY skinny
(She has only ever weighed about 6 lbs.) I guess we cannot expect much, but
this will be very bad on my mother.  Any kind of purrs are ...
cats stack napping hoomin28 Mar 2004 20:13 GMT11
I stretched out on the sofa for a little afternoon nap.  Soon Emily joined
me, claiming her spot on my lap with big happy purrs.  I was just drifting
off when Max hopped up by my feet, walked along between the back of the sofa
and my side, and settled in on my arm, resting his head ...
