Name change06 Mar 2004 13:02 GMT3
I've changed my identity for newsgroups but hope that most of you
recognize me as julie_snowshoe anyhow so aren't confused. I'm on a
serious physical makeover and have introduced myself over at
alt.support.diet, but I don't know those folks so didn't want to use my

Nikki helped me with the newsgroup this morning, and she sat there purring
very loudly for all the kitties and hoomins in need of healing and soothing
purrs. (I've ordered a microphone for the computer, just so I can record her
amazing purr.)
How do  your cats let you know Spring is here?05 Mar 2004 16:13 GMT6
We can tell when spring is on the way when Tanada starts to feel her
cheeriotes.  She's been arguing about custody of my desk chair, the
monitor, food, our bed, and anything else her little kitty heart
desires.  Judging by both Lacey and Tanada, I'd say that spring has sprung.
cat's seat at the computer05 Mar 2004 04:48 GMT6
When I moved the computer upstairs there was no place for the cats to sit
near me. I put an extra chair near the computer for them. One day Peter was
showing me something on the computer and he was sitting in their chair. Boy,
did they let him know. We had to move another chair over ...

Congratulations Kiwis!
My nomination for Best Line was the lady accepting the award for

[RB] Goodbye, Katie04 Mar 2004 21:07 GMT39
Unfortunately, I had to have Katie put to sleep.  She turned out to
have cancer that had spread to multiple locations.  The vet estimated
that she probably had only two or three more weeks to live.  She
didn't appear to currently be in any pain, only weak, but I decided

Now look here! You are really going to have to control Frank ;-)
His effect on Waffles is now beyond the pale. In her attempts to be beautiful
for her favourite Finn, she has given herself the feline equivalent of a
"Brazilian" ;-)

Bumper stickers in Latin (who said Latin was a dead language?). I'm not
putting an OT on this messge, because there is a cat in there somewhere.
Just read on.

I won :-)04 Mar 2004 07:49 GMT1
Felix was doing the "I'm about to hurk" bit on the living room carpet
and I managed to get the wastebasket [with plastic liner, of course]
under and in front of his furry face in time [smug grin].
Of course, I suspect there'll soon be a b*st*rd cat trick by way of
I can't believe it04 Mar 2004 04:18 GMT7
I took Bruiser to his check up a few minutes ago.  He was fine.  We
weighed him and he only weighed 10.4 pounds!  The vet tech couldn't
believe it either.  So we weighed him again.  That's exactly what Maya
weighed.  I knew he was skinny under all that fur but he felt a lot
packing sardines04 Mar 2004 03:31 GMT12
Still sick here,  travelling side show. Friday, burning eyes, sneezig,
Saturday runny nose, Sunday sinus congestion, today sore throat, getting
old.  I wonder if the girls know I grew up in a sardine packing town.
They like to pack themselves into sinks and chairs.  Together forever ...
Heat??04 Mar 2004 02:02 GMT53
Does *anyone* here have an experience with females in heat. You all remember
Biskit. I was waiting till she got built-up and less emaciated before I took
her in to be spayed. A couple of days ago I noticed she was *real* friendly.
Then she started yowling and just doesn't stop. It ...
my cats dream of days like this03 Mar 2004 23:48 GMT11
Our temps have gone up to almost 70 degrees!  The windows are open, the
trees and grasses are just now wakening, and the days are getting a tad
longer...
Suppose to be this weather all week.  Yeah!
