| Life imitates art | 19 Feb 2004 18:22 GMT | 1 |
There's a wonderful little animation on the Internet you may have seen, and played. It's a black cat with white paws and chest that follows the mouse pointer with its eyes, and bats at it with its paw. Now we have a new kitten, Sophie, who loves to sit in front of the screen and do ...

| Diet question | 19 Feb 2004 14:11 GMT | 4 |
All our kitties are indoor cats, and all are, uh, full-figured. One of them, about 3 years old, went to the vets for her shots yesterday and she's hit 16 pounds! Our vet says it's not a dangerous weight because she's a pretty big cat, but it wouldn't hurt her to lose some poundage. ...

I had ordered some of these items from Drs. Foster & Smith, http://tinyurl.com/2a6rv, called a Play Paw. They came yesterday (along with a bunch of other stuff I had ordered) and got one of them out last evening and the little turd was afraid of them. Well, today I put one on

| Cat nip bubbles | 18 Feb 2004 22:06 GMT | 8 |
I bought some catnip bubbles today that promised hours of frantic fun. Otis is completely bored by them, though loves catnip. Chester's still out killing mice so he hasn't tried them yet. Anyone have good success with them? Any tips?

| Smart...or just weird? | 18 Feb 2004 21:09 GMT | 6 |
I have an adolescent Norwegian Forest Cat (Birgitta Deilig) who has several odd--and mostly amusing--behaviors. One thing she does that I've never seen before (and I've had a lot of cats) is that she eats with her feet.

| Any Washington, DC area boarding recommendations? | 18 Feb 2004 20:32 GMT | 2 |
Looks like our little "temporary assignment" is turning into a permanent move. Anyone live in the Washington, DC area that can recommend a good boarding facility? I am particularly interested in feline boarding in Maryland (Rockville, Bethesda, Silver Spring) but also need ...

| Water question | 18 Feb 2004 05:51 GMT | 11 |
Hi guys! I have a question... How much water should a cat drink a day? I have a cat health book here that says 1oz per pound o' body weight. That would put The Dust at about 13oz. His bowl holds 12oz and he has never even come close to consuming even 1/2 of it in 24 hours ever. ...

I've been off-line since the end of January, and still cannot get online with my computer. Euwck, I'm going through newsgroup withdrawal. The same day that we got rear-ended by a looky-loo watching the aftermath of a three car accident, I got home and tried to go on-line. Of ...

| Snow!!! | 17 Feb 2004 21:09 GMT | 19 |
It snowed in Austin last night! The garden is (almost) covered in white and it's gorgeous! I'll put some pictures online later today. The cats are all indoors staying warm. It's supposed to warm up to the 50's (10's in celcius) so it won't last. In the meantime, Tom and I are ...
