Feeling better - Christmas update28 Dec 2003 03:56 GMT1
Hi all... feeling a bit better today, but called in sick anyway (first time
sick, late or absent in over a year that I've been working there, not bad)
to fend off any hanging on germs.
I haven't told you all what the furr-butts got for Xmas. Aunt Michelle (my
It was scary28 Dec 2003 03:41 GMT11
0730 the cats were outside enjoying the morning sun happy with life when
disaster struck in the form of a huge dog trailing a leash.  Bruiser
easily dashed back to the safety of me and the patio.  Maya was not so
lucky.  She was out of position to make for the patio and was cut ...

can survive losing him.   Thank you.

Why are we still there? - HUMOUR27 Dec 2003 23:10 GMT8
Why are we still there?
It is time to take a serious look at our involvement there.
Every day there are news reports about more deaths. Every night on the
TV are photos of death and destruction. Why are we still there?

Rattle, thump, jingle27 Dec 2003 16:35 GMT2
I was taking a nap when I vaguely heard this rattlling sound.  Then a thump.
Then a jingle.  And again... rattle, thump, jingle.
I woke up and looked around.  Persia was playing with her sisal mouse which
has beads inside and a feather tail.  She was shaking it in her mouth
BW--I Hadda Open My Big Fat Mouth!!27 Dec 2003 14:06 GMT33
Weeks ago my sister adroitly mentioned that since her son and his wife
had moved to Oklahoma, she would be spending Christmas alone for the
first time. Naturally, my mouth disengaged itself from its connection
to the brain and I found myself inviting her for dinner at our house.
Thank You from BlueBird........(long..... sorry)27 Dec 2003 13:24 GMT2
I'll tell you right off that I'm not able to stay here to reply to
anyone.  I've been probably the sickest I've been in over two years, the
last time I went to the hospital.  It started on Sept. 2nd this year
when I received the news from my vet that Little Bit had only 4-5 days
Sardines fro Christmas27 Dec 2003 11:51 GMT4
Probably Kenzie's most favorite treat, which she only gets about 2 or 3
times a year, are sardines. I gave her one on Christmas Eve., and the
rest of the tin throughout Christmas Day. She wasn't impressed with her
cat toys (sigh....) but the sardines made up for it.
Nostalgic tonight and sad27 Dec 2003 06:54 GMT25
As I spend Christmas eve alone after bailing on a church service I've been
looking forward to, I have been looking through old pictures and things
from Eric's funeral.  "The room" that I rarely enter.  I wanted to share a
poem/story with you that was written by my ex husband's ...
Christmas Kitty Kiss -- the Best!26 Dec 2003 22:14 GMT8
After singing in Midnight Christmas Eve services, I got home at nearly
1am early this Christmas morning.
My big orange fuzzball "RJ", as usual, rushed to greet me, making that
enchanting meow-while-running sound they make, "Wah, wah, wah..."
B & C - The Xmas Cake26 Dec 2003 16:07 GMT5
I know I was stupid.   I left the Xmas cake nicely covered on the
kitchen bench.   The cover had been clawed off and they had eaten a
whole corner of the cake!!
Bev, who is not telling this story to her guests!!
Influenza Pam strikes again :(26 Dec 2003 11:41 GMT12
Yup, I got the flu.  Temps have been running over 101F, Rob turned off
the ceiling fan because I thought Smokey the bear was hanging from it by
his hat and wanted him down from there and out of the house, and I'm
hot/cold/hot/cold and so forth.
More Mikeypurrs, please?26 Dec 2003 11:23 GMT13
Mike went back to TED this morning to have blood drawn for tests
preliminary to scheduling a dental appointment - he has been slowly
but steadily losing weight, and TED now says he wants to test his
thyroid function.  The lab that tests that, however, is closed for the
