| Blacktop and Cats | 11 Nov 2003 03:53 GMT | 1 |
ANyone have experience with blacktopping on cats' paws? It's this stuff, coal tar, that people put on their driveways to prevent the things from whatever. Anymore driveways and there won't be a water table,

| "Emergency" purrs for an opera lover? | 11 Nov 2003 02:12 GMT | 15 |
I posted the following to my travel and opera newsgroups, who probably can be of more help from a practical standpoint. However, given the proven "power of purr", I figured it would do no harm to post it here, too. I can certainly use all the help I can get!

| HELP: Friend in Taiwan needs help with tiny stray kitten | 11 Nov 2003 00:45 GMT | 3 |
A friend of mine has rescued a tiny stray kitten - only 3 or 4 weeks. She has three concerns: feeding, worming, and constipation. If any of you have any insight, I'd appreciate it! I'll also call the TED late tomorrow and see what he says. We are travelling and out of town

| Bring a Plate OT | 10 Nov 2003 22:40 GMT | 41 |
New Zealand has an odd custom (I am told this by overseas visitors). Sometimes if we go to a function i.e. a farewell for someone, a commtttee meeting etc. we are told to 'bring a plate'. My German sister-law admitted to complete confusion when asked to do this and took

| Little Feet's Territory | 10 Nov 2003 22:20 GMT | 2 |
Ever since little Feet came to stay with us, he has been a confirmed indoor cat. If I open the door, he stays at the door, sniffing the air. If I go outside, he sometimes comes out too, but stays close to me, and follows me back inside.

| Victor's Boca Negra | 10 Nov 2003 22:20 GMT | 1 |
Dear Victor! I have tried the recipe you posted on September 7 and it is delicious! It is impossible to find 99% chocolate in Slovenia, even 70% chocolate is hard to find and very expensive. But nevertheless the result was magnificent. Thank

OK, I bought one. Expensive, aren't they? Anyway, it's done. So I have taken a couple of snaps and put them on my Catpage. You can see how Minke and Nanki Poo have aged in the last 18 months since their last pictures.

| Owie! | 10 Nov 2003 18:02 GMT | 4 |
I was woken this morning to the distinctly less than pleasant feeling of Francis using my right thigh as a surface on which to milk tread. Silly cat was purring his head off and milk treading like mad... but on my bare thigh. *OWIE!!*

| Household chores | 10 Nov 2003 17:43 GMT | 10 |
I am pretty amazed at the way my two cats have divided the household chores. Maya normally supervises me whenever something new is brought into the house opened up and put away. She makes sure that nothing sneaks into the house in a box or bag and that all is of acceptable

| Persia & the Halloween Costume (mine!) | 10 Nov 2003 08:48 GMT | 6 |
I got all decked out this morning (yes, we got to wear costumes to work) in a ballgown I'd bought for an American Civil War Re-enactment ball. It consisted of a hoop skirt (undergarment), a green velvet overskirt trimmed in white lace and a matching velvet lace-up bodice with lace ...

| Catching up | 10 Nov 2003 04:44 GMT | 1 |
We just returned from our annual trip to the Texas Hill Country. I'm trying to catch up, but it might be a while. So here go purrs to all those in need. Victor

| TW--Buddy and Emanuel | 10 Nov 2003 02:07 GMT | 20 |
It has taken me awhile to feel up to writing this. <tears> Last Saturday, Emanuel told his mother he had a dream the night before. He said he had dreamed of Sissy, his twin, who had died at birth. In the dream Sissy told him Buddy was safe with her and no

| Tornado! I'm in the bathroom... | 10 Nov 2003 00:51 GMT | 10 |
A tornado has been spotted on the ground near here. I am typing from our interior bathroom right now. Got oliver in his carrier and I can hear the wind has picked up. The sky was the oddest color before I decided to round up the animals and hide out...

| Otis - more property damage??? | 10 Nov 2003 00:14 GMT | 8 |
Well, it seems that Otis just can't help wrecking the house, even when he *is* allowed to go outside. I didn't let him in fast enough because I was up to my elbows washing something at the kitchen sink. He jumped up *6 FEET* to the 1/4 inch wide
