I turned 46 yesterday (Sept. 17th), and one of my co-workers gave me
a helium balloon as a present.  It is of the cushion-shaped plastic
variety, with a cartoon frog on it and the words "Happy Birthday!".
After work, I took the balloon home to see how my cats would react to

the clutches of the neighbor from hell, which includes keeping them well
fed, so they won't be so interested in the offerings of his baited trap or

I brought home a lovely box from the post office again. As usual, Nikki fell
in love with it, and snuggles in it every so often. There is some lovely
crinkly packing paper on the bottom of the box, too, to dig down under.
Surprisingly, she doesn't use it as a litter box.

Several weeks ago I was asked to be a stand-by judge for the domestic
section at a show held in the next town to me - I thought why not the
chances of the visiting Australian judge not doing it was very remote -
wrong.

Talked to Mom & Dad last Fri (sorry 'bout the delay my brain is spacey), Dad is
home (at my sister's) and is going for short walks. He said the pain isn't too
bad but is having problems breathing. They're going to try more Lasix (sp?).

I'm guessing that most of you don't like this website (I mentioned
it before, nobody responded), but it makes me laugh, scream, roll

You know I really appreciate all the support I've gotten from all of you.  I
may not be around as much as I used to, but I think of all of you nearly
every day.  Hopefully my life will settle down (finally) in the next few
weeks and I can get back to being a proper Catslave.

It has been a long, difficult time for me, both this summer, these
past two weeks, and with roots in years ago.
My neighborhood has been falling apart.  And I have been trying to
keep it together, especially to help the animals.

The latest round of layoffs has started at the company I work in. This
time, our organization is directly affected. I do not know yet if I'll
have a job by the end of the day, but I know some folks who already know.
