great stuff!31 Aug 2003 21:44 GMT4
Mr Peabody here.  Today the humans went to something called a Farmer's
Market, and brought me a bag of fresh catnip.  Woo hoo!  Meowmie only gave
me a few leaves, but I was rolling on the floor in no time.  I may never go
back to the dry stuff after this!
Another lost cat purr request31 Aug 2003 07:09 GMT12
Requesting purrs for another lost cat (not one of mine). One of my
customers moved out of town, and during the confusion of the movers
packing things up Mega bolted and hasn't been seen since. The
neighbors were alerted, but so far no sighting of this little calico
Kitty weather forecasts31 Aug 2003 00:14 GMT7
Of all the cats who've ever owned us, Martha our er, full-figured tortie is
the most afraid of thunder storms. She senses them long before they arrive,
and dives for her basement "bomb shelter" - a dark, quiet nook under my
workbench where I've left a chair cushion for her. She's ...
Fez, aquarist extraordinaire!30 Aug 2003 21:01 GMT2
Saturdays I spend some time doing maintenance on the two fish tanks we
keep. The large tank is easier to take care of, because it has a more
stable ecosystem due to its size. The little tank requires weekly water
changes, though. That's exactly what I was doing when Fez decided to ...
MIL on the move30 Aug 2003 15:21 GMT2
We've been preparing my MIL for the big move out of her house to live with a
friend a few miles away. Yesterday we moved a bunch of stuff over and today
even more. Today we decided to move the MIL and the cats as well.
MIL has two black cats, Ebony and Zeke (a.k.a "Little Sh*t"). ...

Plumbing purrs, please?30 Aug 2003 02:09 GMT9
Okay, I *wasn't* going to post about this, but Mike has had such a
rough day today and will have another tomorrow, so I figure I'd better
ask for some purrs.  It seems like every time I start a new thread,
it's a purr request, sheesh.
Have You Ever Noticed....29 Aug 2003 17:23 GMT9
I noticed that being in this group has tended to internationalize my
vocabulary.  I have caught myself writing "Good on ya," which is not an
Merkin expression.  Nor is "in hospital."  I've got a list around here
somewhere of phrases that I'm finding myself using on occasion.  Not
Your cats' vocabulary (or what they understand)?29 Aug 2003 12:33 GMT20
Just wondering how many have felines that understand how many words and
phrases.
Of course, all of mine know the phrase "Are you guys getting HUNGRY?".
I LOVE to whisper that when they are all napping - it's an instant
Purr Request Update and Thank You :)29 Aug 2003 12:21 GMT4
Well, MIL is finally sorted out and back to her energetic, cheery self!  As
I said, they thought she had shingles in her ear, and so didn't give her
anything for it, since shingles is a virus and they expected it to go on
it's own.  Well, after many tests and a second trip to the ...
Impatient Cats29 Aug 2003 07:28 GMT3
You may recall a post of mine (yesterday, previous day), where I said that
Gizmo knows what time I'll be home and waits for me.....
Well.....yesterday I had a flat tyre and didn't get home till an hour later
than normal.....and what an impatient cat she was,  looking at me as if to
MORE litter box offerings requested!29 Aug 2003 01:28 GMT9
In yesterday's local paper (Olds, Alberta) there was a story run about some abandoned
kittens.
A woman had gone to stay overnight with a friend. When she got up and left in the morning
to go to work, she discovered an animal carrier in the back of her pickup. She heard the
Abelard's Abnormal Appetite28 Aug 2003 18:30 GMT8
My goofy red Abyssinian seems to enjoy vegetables more than any other food
(with the possible exception of live insects). Last week he was really into
boiled asparagus spears and corn on the cob. This week, it's potatoes and
Chinese greens. He goes nuts if I'm eating vegetables ...
Dave Y: Hebrew question28 Aug 2003 18:23 GMT3
Dave, you speak Hebrew, don't you? Do you know if the word "chiq-chaq"
means "quick"? I'm just curious. It's a long story, probably not very
interesting to anyone here, but I could tell it if there was a lot of
demand. :)
Another barepuppy28 Aug 2003 16:38 GMT14
I just got an SMS (text message) from a friend of mine. Her water just broke
and she is on her way to the hospital. This is her second baby, and she had
some difficulties with the first birth, so a few purrs would be much
appreciated. She is a devoted d*g slave and breeder, that's ...
