Most Russian Blues that I have had the honor to deal with  all have been
very skittish  but once they know you there is not getting rid of them.

But it sounds like a furball being a furball

A cyberfriend's parents bought a 1 year old blue. He was outgoing and
friendly at the breeders. They got him home and he escaped to the
garage where he hid for 2 days (came out at night for food). They
dismantled the garage, found him and put him in his own room with all
the accompaniments. He disappeared. While looking, he apparently
escaped to the garage again. We suggested all kinds of things. She even
has a picture of her dad with a box of Kentucky Fried Chicken, blowing
the scent into the last nook he saw the cat peek out of. Well, finally,
they got him back int he bathroom, found the hole he had hidden in and
closed it up. He now is getting better about them and comes for pets
and things, but often goes and just sleeps in the open cupboard on
towels. They have decided to name him Phantom. I don't know why he
turned so skittish, but maybe he is just testing their training
capapbilities.

Oh hell. You have GOT to see this picture. I downloaded it so you can see.

Here is the Phantom himself, in a photo snapped the first night with a
camera they set to take pics every 10 minutes. Came out pretty good for
a stealth shot.
