Hi all

The weather in England has been quite hot of late and the cat has been
breathing heavy and panting a bit which we expected as it's been very humid
as well and we've been making sure her water bowl is never empty. But now it
has gotten a bit cooler, she still seems to be breathing, not so much heavy,
more fast. She seems okay and she's jumping around everywhere and seems her
normal self but we are a bit worried. Could she have a hairball lodged
somewhere and getting short of breath?

I don't think it would be a hairball, as these get lodged in the digestive tract, rather
than the respiratory. If you are that worried about her, take her to the vet for an exam.
It could just be that she is breathing a bit faster now because the air is less humid and
thick, therefore a little easier to draw into the lungs.

thanks, she seems doesn't seem to be in distress but it could be the
humidity as even though raining it's still humid

Well.....I just know how badly high humidity affects me and I'm not asthmatic or
anything. It gets very hard to breathe at times and I find myself almost panting just to
draw a breath.
