I thought only dogs liked this, but my kitten likes to play fetch!
She'll bring me her toy mouse and drop it on my lap and I'll
throw it across the room and she'll run after it and bring it
back to me.  She will do this at least a dozen times before
getting bored.

LOL..! My moggy would look at me with an expression that says "if you
wanted it, why did you throw it away..?!"

My Devon Rex, Rocky, is the same way.  It is very
mood-dependent of course (when I WANT to play fetch he'll ignore
me), but often he will bring me some small object, like a plastic
ring from an orange juice bottle, and wait for me to throw it, then
go grab it and bring it back.  He will then repeat the process
continually.
It's pretty fun, except that my wife & I tire of the game much
sooner than he does. :-)

Burmese cats have a reputation for fetching - I'm not quite sure why,
or even if it's true! Ours used to fetch, but then so do our
Tonkinese. I imagine that, like any animal, the earlier they are
trained the easier...
