I have 8 cats and lately since its been warmer a cat has been peing in my
house .. i can never figure out who... I thought it was narrowed down to 1
of my 2 male cats cause i found pee on the side of the couch like spray..
altho can females spray? They know its wrong too cause a cat peed on my
living room floor while i was in the next room and disappeared... How can i
figure out who and why a cat is peeing now... I tried process of elimination
by letting 1 cat out of the basement at a time but after a couple weeks of
good behavior it started again... They never did this before....

First and foremost, you have to take them to the vet. Inapropriate
peeing is usually a sign of a urinary problem that requires immediate
medical attention.

Suzie, sometimes cats pee in places other than the litter box for reasons
other than medical problems. Cats will not use their litter box for reasons
like; The box is dirty, overfull, in an area they don't like, they are
afraid of another cat using the box or having a problem with another cat and
don't want to use the same box, the litter type was changed - some cats
won't go in scented/deodorized litter, ... Cats are picky about the litter
box and will not use it fot these reasons and more. Solutions; undo any
changes to the box, litter or area. Keep it clean, scoop at least 3x a day
with 8 cats, provide several litter boxes not one. Use an outdoor sandbox as
well & keep it scooped
and raked, ( for our 4 cats they'll use the outdoor box before the indoor).
Make sure litter boxes in and out are in private places, away from people
and other cats. Also any changes to the household can make a cat nervous or
upset and they can react by wetting the floor and not using the box. The
