In two cases, 4 months apart, two different vets: both estimated or said about $400 to examine, blood work, x-rays and to keep cat until morning. When cat was picked up, both vest presented bills for $1200. The 1st one gave in little and was vary arrogant with weak justification, the 2nd vet, after my complaint, reduced the bill to $440. It is my conclusion, that a business practice of vets is to lure customer in, then prey on their emotions to milk the maximum cash. The cases above do not include the additional vet highly recommended treatments, like blood transfusion, daily dialysis etc. which were highly beyond our means. I feel the vet industry is ripe for some sort of control as we have seen in the human medical industry and maybe a better and more appropriate example is the rules and conditions mortuaries now have to operate under. That business in the past, like vets today, manipulated and influenced those who were in grief, feigning shock that you wouldn't want to have the best money can buy for your loved ones. I am left with an extremely fowl taste of the vet industry and I hope someday reforms as seen by mortuary and medical industry can become more prevalent from state to state for vetinary. It is shameful and disgusting the way vets feed on human emotion to line their pockets. look at it this way: people doctors, car mechanics, computer technicians, and people in other professions do the same thing. Mars Project (rockin' your world daily) Find a Vet that has cats & really loves animals & has pymt. terms & competively priced. Grill the receptionist on the phone when cking out Vets - if they have no cats/pets, why? Will they give a discount for multiple pet homes? Mine gives me a flat 25% off, deal made as I had 4 cats. First visit - how does he treat your cat, if no natural affection/caring there get rid of him - it's a money thing. The Vets that ripped you off in unfair business practices (gouging) Complain to; Better Business Bureau... Take it to small claims court & sue if bill was unfair. Send Vet. ltr. of complaint & demand refund. Best thing is to find a regular Vet after research & stick with him. There are some really good ones. ------------------------------------------------As per identity disclosure & threats to Magic Mood Jeep --- change your email & account names though troublesome worth it. The disclosures already made will then be obsolete & fade into post history fast. Change the tag# if worried, print out the threats & go to the Police if serious threats are made. That crosses the line of trolling & hacking. Also a hacker/troller here sent me a virus called; W32/Suij.B. Also animal activists can help track animal cruelty cases. According to the posts here several cat hating trolls profess to be torturers, rapists, killers,stalkers,... I say may their words befall them & awaken redeemed cat lovers. Because what goes around comes around & it's too bad, the world is a bad place & produces bad people. Why not troll in subjects not pertaining to death & hate & destruction? Then trollers would be all that instead of despicable downers - some trolls are eloquent & brilliant, while others mere trash. Threats work 2 ways on the net for all to see - maybe cat loving hackers will see & go troll hunting & shut it down. Soon I will be recruiting good hackers to track down & destroy animal cruelty sites on the web. Seems the only way to eliminate the sickening trend. Oh and I'm not afraid of Mars Project - he killed me once and alas I live! -with yet another name!
