I was out in the horse barn this morning bringing in the waterhoses
from the watertroughs and I spotted a bunch of little furballs bundled
up with their mom in the tack room.  When I left to work this morning
there were 3 born and more on the way.
One of our other 4 cats always helps out when there are new kittens (I
guess its because she is their aunt) and she was there curled up with
the kittens helping mom lick them off.

My wife gave me a funny call this afternoon and told me about
something funny.  She said the kittens aunt had decided to adopt one
of the kittens and had brought one out into the barn aisle and was
curled up with it.  Baby kitten was not too happy about aunties lack
of milk and was crying for mom.

Mom and kitties are all safe and sound in the house now until they get
a bit older.  If you have some good kitten names you can send them to
me at companionforever@abc123.sent.com

I'm always coming up with names for my foster kittens, it could be anything
from a physical feature or just a name I like.  I've had BlackToe (feet were
white but one toe was black), Oscar, Jasmine, Cole, Fruit Stripe (juicy
fruit zebra).  Names could be anything, depends on my mood, cat's
personality (hard to tell being newborns).  Do you have a friend that has a
child, kids would probably love to name them.

Awww, how nice to have a new bunch of furballs!  They'll probably name
themselves, more or less, either by their appearance or their
purrsonalities.  I like the idea (although I've not done it myself) of
naming cats after authors or artists.

Thanks for all the tips on cat naming.

My dear white part-Siamese who lived to be 21 years old, was named Phoebe
Snow.  I always liked her namesake's voice (remember "Mr. Poetry Man?") and
I was looking for something that depicted her total white coat.  She was
always Phoebe Snow, never just Phoebe.

Perfect name for her.  Siamese (and usually part Siamese) have a wonderful
vocal range -- and of course her color as well.  I most definitely remember
Mr. Poetry Man.

Twenty-one is a ripe old age for a cat.  Congratulations to you for the
excellent care you provided, and to her ancestors for the good genes. And I
like that you always used her full name.

May your memories of Phoebe Snow keep her always with you.
