Cats eating disorder

My cat has issues;

if it eats raw chicken - it vomits it all straight back up every time.
if it eats pre packaged cat food, that contains any kind of watery sauce -
it vomits it up every time.

Is this normal???

any cat food that's simply fish with no sauce it eats happily with no
effect, even tuna fish, that's drained, if its not drained - it vomits it
straight back up.

Not all chicken it rejects either, my smoked chicken breast I buy for my
self at $12/lb it swallows without even chewing and would eat the lot if
given the chance with no effect.

yes, but I assumed this was normal

I feared it was because of nerves, as where she eats is a high traffic area,
but why would it be with only certain foods?

No. Take your cat to a vet if you haven't done so recently.

Hi Dave,
I'm new to this group but not new to this problem. My cat can't even eat
crunchies without throwing up. The problem is he will eat a full bowl ( he
can't ration them like other cats I've had) and then as they expand in his
stomach, he will throw up. This is resulted in us having to feed him a few
crunchies at a time many times a day. The vet said there is nothing wrong
with him but that he has a behavioural problem. There isn't anything we can
really do but to stick to this regime. He weighs nearly 10 pounds so I'm
assuming he's healthy. Gabe can't eat wet food at all, even in small
amounts. Just about anything but high quality crunchies makes him puke.
It's annoying but that's just how he is.

actually, eating a full bowl of dry food then vomiting it isn't behavioral,
its science.. he eats the dry food, then drinks some water, then the dry
food expands so its larger than his stomach, and he has to vomit.

I have heard a neat solution for cats who gorge. Feed then on a cookie sheet
instead of with a bowl. This way, they cannot scoop up shovelfuls of food at
a time. =]

We've actually been doing something like that! We discovered that when the
crunchies accidentally fall on the floor, he will eat them one at a time,
seemingly in the order they were dropped. It's kind of funny that he will
alternate sides of the dish following an order of some kind. I don't mind
spreading crunchies out on the floor as he will eventually eat them all.
