Max the Media Sound Studio cat died of natural causes Sunday, March 7th,
2004 5:45pm EST.
Max served much of his youth as the "Mouse Catcher to the Stars". Max was
a true rock'n'roll animal, present at many of the important sessions
recorded at Media Sound during the studio's hayday.
If we were to have asked Max what his favorite memories of his career
days were. He would have surely exclaimed, "Guns'n'Roses - Appetite for
Destruction sessions!" To his last days Max always recognized and was
excited when he heard anything from that record. Perhaps he recalled
warming Slash's lap between takes or any number of other bonds he formed
with the band.
When Media Sound closed it's doors Max retired to the suburbs of Astoria,
Queens, as the prized pet of John Charette and Trudy Kay, where he lived
to be 17 years old. Max was a special cat and for those of us that knew
him, it is unlikely we will see one like him again.
Max, beloved 'son' of John & Trudy, was buried in Pennsylvania on Monday,
March 8th. In respect of their privacy, condolences sent to
dj@micrage.com will be forwarded to John & Trudy.
