We have two males we adopted from the shelter.  We got Forrester first
and after a couple of months we decided to get him a buddy:

They are getting along great.  They eat out of the same bowl, (dry
food), at the same time.  They sleep together and they play like crazy.
Man do they play.

A couple of weeks ago we noticed that Maximus was missing some whiskers.
We though he might have gotten a little too close to a desk lamp or
something, but we were not sure.  He lost more whiskers and were really
perplexed.  Then a couple of days ago I witnessed Forrester walk up to a
sleeping Maximus, stand over him, put a paw on his shoulder and proceed
to chew off a whisker!  Maximus did not even protest.

Have any of you noticed anything like this before?

Thank you.

All of our cats are usually missing a whisker or two. I wouldn't worry
about it.

Thanks Victor.  However I am not worried about missing whiskers.  It is
the fact that one cat is chewing them off the other cat.

Well, take a video of that and send it in to Animal Planet. I'm sure
they'll pay for it!!! :)

Yeah, they would -- do it ajh!  They're soooo cute together.  I'm glad they
have each other.

No.  But they are cuter than hell and they really appear to enjoy each
other's company.  Nice going, Andy.  :-)

a yup.. I foster kittens and quite often one has quarter to half inch
whiskers because they were chewed off.  One, that I fell in love with and
adopted, I called walrus for a while cause he had such short whiskers.  No
idea why, but its not uncommon at all.

That's very weird...
but at least the whiskers will grow back.

I wonder if my cat has been chewing the hair off the top of my head...
for the last few years it's been disappearing...and it does *not* seem to be
growing back!

(that darn cat)
