I recently got one of those laser-pointer toys for my kitty and she
just loves it!  I'll shine the dot around the floor and walls and
she goes wild.  It has a key chain attached to it and no matter how
quietly I try to pick it up she can hear it and recognizes the
sound and eagerly awaits the play she knows is coming up.  What's
great is that she is unable to lose the laser dot, as she has
managed to lose almost every other toy I have given her.

I had purchased a laser pointer for DH to use at his work, but he never got
it.  It was one of the larger ones that took 2 AAA batteries to run it (the
size of an ink pen), and Tennessee LOVED chasing it (so do Lizzie & Weeble
too).  It got so that if I even picked up a PENCIL, he would start looking
for the red dot!

I have a couple of cats who try to eat the dot, after they "catch" it.

I also had 2 cats who couldn't see it!
