hi, i have a white haired domestic male cat that constantly has black crud
running out of his tearducts which hardens into a scab.

also, black wax is coming out of his ears as well.

before i take him to the vet, anyone experience this with their cat before?
if so, what can i do about it?
thanks.

The black gunk  in his ears, does it look a lot like coffee grounds? if so,
its probably ear mites.  If it looks like wax, then he just has waxy ears.
Although a white cat usually would have clear wax, so chances are its ear
mites.  acaraxx is a great mite treatment.. or mitaclear.. its a pretty
cheep fix.

My kitty Eli has blocked tear ducts.  The cat's tears come out clear, but
very very quickly turn a reddish color, then black when it dries.  If it
isn't goopy and green, but clear/reddish/black, then chances are his tear
duct is blocked.. or there is something in his eye that is causing it to
produce more tears than his ducts can handle.  The vet will probably just
prescribe an eye ointment to help.

I have no idea what it is, I would get the cat to a vet ASAP.

Could this black crud be dried blood?  I would get the cat to the vet
now (local animal hospital if you have on in your area.)

My first inclination is blood maybe mixing with ear mites or something
similar.

Bood coming out the ear is never "normal."
