Moogie is nice. <-: Ooogie boogie Moogie. I like it.
You could always name it Tribbles . . . .

If YOU like the name Moogie ...and the CAT likes the name Moogie ...then why
ask us? What if we said NO, what would you do then? The answer would be
...you'd name the cat Moogie. Surely you wouldn't ask us to name your cat,
right?
Goodbye Moogie! ...Goodbye Moogie's master!

Fat lot you know, I thought everyone knew that it's dogs that have
masters, cats have staff ;-)
Anyway, my Missy told *me* her name..! Don't ask me how I know, I just do
:-)

First of all, if you are naming the cat _after_ someone, does the cat have
any similar characteristics to that person? Many people name cats according
to what the cat is like, for example a white cat could be called "Snowy", a
tabby "Smudge", etc.
Do you feel comfortable calling the cat by that name? Out loud? What about
in the street at 3am while the neighbours are listening? What about when a
friend or a date asks you what your cat's name is? Do you confidently tell
them, or red-faced, shyly admit to the guys at the gun club that he is
called "Mr. Snooky"?
Of course if you have more than one cat, do the names go together? I don't
necessarily mean "pairs" like "Bonnie And Clyde", "Laurel And Hardy", etc.,
but if one cat is called "Moogie", perhaps another would be better named
"Neelix" or "T'pol" rather than "Ginger".
As you can see I have not *answered* your question, but your answers to mine
should answer yours!

I have a friend that named their cat Bill Clinton but called 'Clinton' in
short. The cat doesn't act odd but maybe he does behind closed doors. I'll
advise my friend to keep a watchful eye on Clinton's activities.
