I think my male cat Sabre is raping our youngest kitten. The kitten (Ivy) is
3 months old and can't possibly defend herself from Sabre who is over 3
times her size and weighs 13 lbs. Sabre is nuetered by the way.
Anyways, it all started a few weeks ago when Ivy was in my bedroom along
with Sabre and our other male cat Keeli, who is also nuetered. I heard Ivy
scream and fiss really loud so I ran to see what was going on. I found Ivy
running across the floor dragging her bottom on the floor, then she stopped
and started licking it. My first thought was tapeworm, but she had recently
been treated for them, so I thought it couldn't be that. So, I picked her up
to look at her bottom and it was all red and swollen and there was a little
blood on her anus. My mom thought that one of the cats must have tried to
rape Ivy, but we weren't sure.
Since then we have tried to keep them seperated, but sometimes we let them
all out together to play. But today, when they were all out, I heard Ivy
scream again, so I ran to see what it was and sure enough I found Sabre
mounting her, and he ran as soon as he saw me. I ran after him and caught
him, and noticed his penis was partially out. I put him in the bedroom and
then I looked at Ivy. I noticed that her anus was red and open a little.
I also notice sometimes that Sabre tries to mount Keeli, our other male,
which I thought was rather unusual, but Keeli usually bites him and he will
stop. I also noticed that Keeli's stool has smears of blood in it. I am
taking him to the vet Monday regarding that, but I thought that if Sabre
raped him, it might have something to do with it.
I really don't know what to do to. Has anyone here had a similar problem?
Does anyone have any suggestions? If Sabre doesn't stop, I will have to
consider adopting him out. I really don't want to do that, but it would
probably be in the best interests of Keeli and Ivy.
Thanks in Advance,
Melissa

Suggestion: Take Sabre to the Vet. The neutering operation may not
have been complete. Neutering should take away the ability.

actually it doesn't take away the ability, just the hormones that cause the
urge.
Mounting is a form of domination in neutered pets. he's trying to show the
other's who his boss.
You really should take Sabre to the vet

Definately take Sabre to the vet, sounds to me like he wasn't fixed.
"Mounting" may be a domination thing, but penetration is not. My one male
cat will sometimes mount my female and bite the back of her neck, but there
isn't any penitration.
Good Luck!
