Good choice, Bill! I have two Maine Coon females, and couldn't be happier
with them. I've always been partial to same sex cats when there are two.
Don't think it's crucial, but it might make them more compatible. You'll be
having the two of them neutered, of course.
All of my Coon stories have to do with how smart the beasts are! The
getting along part is usually uneventful. When they have a spat, it's
because they really don't seem to have the territory divided the way one
would expect in a multiple cat household -- it's all shared, so now and then
they disagree.

Thanks Diana,
The litter has three red boys and three brown tabby girls. We originally
were looking for a brown tabby boy but were blown away with *Winston*
(who is a full red mackerel). So unless we want two red boys we have to
take a brown girl if we want them the same age.
This is just fine with us but we did wonder how they are likely to get
along. I know this is dependent too on their little personalities but
wondered about compatibility of the m/f relationship.
And yes they will be neutered/spayed.
Thanks again

I have a female Maine Coon and she is just the sweetest thing. She demands
to be brushed every day. And she does get brushed. Quite often several times
a day. She is the ultimate hunter and has killed 2 squirrels that have
jumped on the balcony. She is sort of like a dog as when I call her name she
gets up and comes to me. I kind of like that a lot. And she often kneads on
me.

Hi Lee,
I understand they are just big entertaining goofs at home but I'm sure
they are a force to be reckoned with outdoors.

Definitely.
Mia will hunt anything anytime anywhere. all she wants to do is hunt. Well
when she isn't being brushed that is.
