Last Monday we took the cat (Millie) to the vet as she had been breathing
heavy for a while. The worst news-Cancer, and it had spread. My girlfriend
was devastated and I wasn't much good either. The vet said to put her to
sleep, he didn't even discuss any therapy at all. I nearly put him to sleep
and decided to seek another vet's opinion. He recommend chemo. We had her
chest and stomach cavity drained of fluid so she could breathe easier.

Another option recommended to us was homeapathic treatment. We sought out
the help of Richard Allport who is a homeapathic vet and he decided on a
course of treatments. Since giving Millie the medicine she has been a lot
better and even jumping around like normal.

We have come to terms with the fact that her disease is terminal but I
believe there's always hope.

I have posted to this group before and wish to thank the people that have
helped with cat problems I have had in the past.

Im glad to hear you'll have some extra quality time with Millie.  Hopefully
you will have some time, and will be better prepared when that time does
come - not that anyone really can be prepared.
