Yes that old phrase, a frog?

No

A mouse?

No

A rat then?

Nope, try again.

A poor wee birdie?

No.  Do you give up?

Yes, what is it.

SOmething dark, mysterious, motionless then suddenly between my bare toes. A
slug.

I love my cat.

My goodness thats worse than what Wilson drags in. I've been
going to post this story for the last couple of days,
I was sitting quietly reading a magazine a few days ago
when Wilson walks in right up to my feet where he often
drops prezzies for me, and dropped a creature right at my
feet, before I could make out what it was it started to scuttle
I threw the mag at it, and it raced away, leaving its tail doing a
hoola dance in the middle of the floor, Both Wilson and I were
mesmerised by this, until it eventually lay still, then we both started
to look for itWilson with evil intentions and me with the Idea of
saving it I soon gave up I mean how many places can you search
in a loo? but big W hung around that door for five hoursjust leaving
occasionally for a few minutes then I walked in the doorand saw it in the
middle of the tiles, picked it up, poor thing he got you, I wrapped it in
some
toilet paper and took it to the kitchen garbage just as my Daughter arrived
with the kids, After I told the story Daniella [Grand-daughter] wanted to
see it so I went to get it as it was only on the top, there was nothing in
the wrapping, then I saw a small movement and realised it was still alive,
so we put it in a cardboard box with some lettuce, and after a few hours I
was able to
put it outside on the thick stalk of one of my Geranium plants. My good deed
for the day.    Jean P.

EW....

The worst I had brought to me was a rabbit.   It was about the same
size as my cat.  (and the cat was declawed in the front).

Your cat was DECLAWED?

How absolutely awful.

Oh well - so, I should go adopt a cat that has claws and let the one
that doesn't have claws remain in the shelter?   Its not like I had
the cat declawed, I just adopted one that needed a good home, and I
give them good homes.   :-)

I've had 3 cats that I adopted over the years and they were all
declawed before I got them.

<shrug>   I guess that makes me a bad person.  :-)

I've gotton a pink stuffed elephant.  A blue stuffed mouse.  Ours go outside
on our third floor balconey.  So there's not much wild life for them to
bring in.  I get the occasional moth and big blue beetle.  Where we used to
live had a bi law that your cat needed to be on a leash so we didn't get
much from them then either.

Last weekend my Maine Coon brought down another squirrel. She is an inside
only cat but does go out on the balcony. Two times now squirrels have jumped
on to my balcony and both times their life ended there.

Yes, I see what you mean.  But let me tell you - the cat I mentioned
in post, Rascal, long haired siamese looking, mute, couldn't meow or
purr, but your could feel her motor) suffered no ill will by not
having her front claws.    She still climbed trees, brought home mice,
birds, squirrels and rabbits that were bigger than her!    I tried
keeping her as an indoor only cat and she just did horrid  (depressed,
moped around, etc).   She was also a super lovey girl.

Of the cats I've had, Rascal will always be my favorite.

Sabrina, my current cat has always been an indoor baby.  I adopted her
4 yrs ago and she was 4 yrs old then  (making her 8 yrs now).   She
also, was declawed when I got her.  Poor girl, her previous owner was
an elderly lady who passed away and Sabrina was given back to the Vet
to be put up for adoption to find a good home.  She's always been a
big, fat (literally 22lbs when I got her) indoor cat that HATES grass
and will only go on the concrete lania outside.

Us to .. ours came to us that way.  Our other one isn't declawed although
some days I wish he was.

Our current problem is Sabrina's back claws.   She's gone 8 yrs
without really having to have them trimmed as they never were too much
trouble.   But now that she is missing one of her front legs, she has
even less balance and control and the back claws are almost always out
as a way for extra balance.

Well all I get are white surgical gloves bought thru the cat flap by little
ZeeB. - Don't ask why & where from, as I haven't discovered that yet :o)

Perhaps he/she is trying to get you hooked up with the vet!

Something with wings, and oh!, fur!?

Must be a bat then, a long-eared bat to be precise.

I remember as a child, our cat brought one of these in. My mother looked it
up in the encyclopaedia to see what it was. In the end she wrapped it in
cotton wool and posted it to Batman*.

*A local wildlife expert specialising in bats, who requested that all
specimens were sent to him for research, hence the nickname.
