It's 2:20 AM and my cat is driving me mad.. she is meowing funny, it's
almost like purr and a meow at the same time.. and being VERY loud.. she's
rolling on the ground.. running around the house... i only got her 3 weeks
ago at an animal shelter.. they said that she is spayed already... she wont
stop.. she doesnt want attention, she has food.. her litter is clean... she
is a himalayan/siamese mix.

Is she sticking her butt up in the air and crouching very low in the front?
Prancing with her back feet? If that is the case, she's probably in heat..
either its left over hormones and it will subside soon, or she wasn't
actually spayed. They might have shaved her stomach and saw what they
thought was a spay scar and didn't actually go in and look.
although.. Siamese are notorious for talking.. could just be that

That's what I was gonna say. She's probably in heat. Take her to a vet and
see what they say. The worker at the shelter who checked her could have
been new, tired or just wanted to get the cat adopted. The vet would know.
They probably do about 6 to 10 spay's a day.

Well i took her to the vet... they shaved her tummy and said there's no
indication of her ever being spayed she has been scheduled for tuesday.

Good for you. That'll stop the meowing and such. I'm a big advocate for
spaying and neutering. It's good that your getting her fixed.

My first thought is calici, a very infectious disease that can kill the cat
rapidly if you don't take it in for veterinary help. Even then, the cat may
not survive.

Woops, I meant this for the poster whose cat had sores on it's mouth.
Sorry!

April, I don't know if this will help any, but we have owned Siamese
cats and they do howl alot for no apperant reason. One male we had
used to go down in the celler and it sounded like someone was killing
him, he would yell so much.

I also have a Balinese (long haired siamese). When she goes into heat she
acts psycho! She is extremely loud...and runs around like a mad cat! When
talking to people on the phone I've been asked if it was my baby
crying...nope just my cat in heat. Glad to hear you getting your cat fixed.
I'll be doing the same soon :)
