I don't understand. . . my cat loves my boyfriend but is mainly indifferent
to me. I've had him since his birth and he is now about 2 1/2. He was
never a very cuddly cat, but he does like to be pet now and then, when he
wants it. The weird thing is that even though I am the one who feeds him,
cleans his box, takes him to the vet and always pays attention to him, he
gives my boyfriend all the attention. He always hops up in my boyfriend's
lap, and meows to be pet when he never does this to me. My boyfriend
recently went away for the weekend, and the cat didn't even come in my room
once. When my boyfriend came home he went crazy and begged to be pet and
hopped up on the bed and purred. I get so frustrated because I try to give
my cat all the love I can whenever he wants, while my boyfriend often times
will kick the cat out of the room when he wants to be pet or ignore him. I
would never do that, and yet he seems to love my boyfriend and not me. Why
does my cat hate me??!

If I pay too much attention to my cat, he'll start to get annoyed with
me, so it might be worth a try to ignore him for a while and see what
happens. Cats (mine at least) like attention, but only when they want it,
if you try to pet my kitty and he's not in the mood, he'll get mad.

your kitty doesn't hate you, he just prefers your boyfriend. I have five
cats, and we have cats who much prefer me, and cats who much prefer my
husband. I agree with the post from dink, often cats who are given too much
attention shy away from it. Notice how your boyfriend spends time with him,
does he coo and coddle, or does he just pat him and move on?

Jennifer your cats just being a cat. Somehow you have to learn to live with
it. Try ignoring the cat and see what happens. Sometimes if you give a
cat too much attention it just doesn't like it.

eheh, I'm sorry, but this post hit my funny bone.
Especially reading the last fourth of it, it struck me how women are
the exact same way! ;)
