We have two kittens, 9 months and 6 months old.  Today we found
what looks suspiciously like a little kitten tooth sitting on
their cat tree.  Do kittens shed teeth?

Just like humans, kittens have 'baby' teeth, which they lose when their
'adult' teeth come in.

Keep an eye on their gums when teething sometimes the adult teeth do not
push the baby teeth out and they can get really sore mouths. My kitten had 4
fags at the top which were cutting into his bottom gums, I got them removed
by the vet as it was stopping him eating, and making his bottom gums bleed
:-(

Yup.  freaked me out the first time I learned about it cause one of my
kitties was playing with me quite roughly and one of his teeth was left
behind after a particularly nasty attack.  I haven't seen any teeth laying
around after that, and Ive gone through five sets after that.  I had one
kitty who's baby teeth wouldn't fall out and he had eight canine teeth for a
while.  Doctor recommended pulling them, but I gave them some more time and
they fell out on their own.
