I have a  two year old Tabby that continues to gnaw on speaker wire s well
as cords to appliances.  One would think that the electric shock she must
have gone would deter her...but noooooooo.  I am at me wits end, how can I
get her off this cord fetish???

Buy some bitter apple spray and use it on the cables.

Wrap em in Tin Foil or aluminum foil.  The bitter apple is a good idea to.

yeap, generally cats hate both aluminium foils and citrus smells/tastes. But
if both ideas fail, I cannot reccomend more a touch of Hot Pepper sauce. One
lick of this, I doubt she'll be gnowing on the wires no more :)

No, "Bitter Apple" is the name, I don't think it refers to actual apple
flavor.  A good pet store like Petco should carry it.

They sell a product called "Bitter Apple" that you spray on stuff to
keep animals from chewing on it.  I used it when I had a ferret and
it was very effective.  I dabbed a drop on his tongue and he made
a horrific "yuk" sound so I know that it kept him from chewing on
anything sprayed with it.
