My cat has a number of small bumps-about the size of 1/2 the end of a
pencil eraser scattered over his body.  They are white, smooth and
there is a bit of white powder which looks like dandruff around them.
He does not scratch them and they do not seem to bother him.  Any idea
what they are and what causes them.  Want to get another cat in the
near future and want to find out more about these bumps before
bringing another cat into the house.  Oh he is a house cat that goes
for a walk with me on a leash almost every day-he loves to play
outdoor kitty.

thanks

could be fatty cysts, could be cancer, could be any number of things.  Only
way to be certain would be.. yup.. the dreaded trip to the vet.

Where are the bumps located?   If they are on the abdomen, they could
be nipples.

Start on his head and continue on his back-he has had them for a
while-no scratching, darkened areas or irritation around them.  They
look like moles to me - assume cats have moles like humans.

Thanks Connie-but these things look like soft white moles or maybe
soft warts and they are consistent in size-cancer would be erratic in
size and not soft and white.

Anybody else have any ideas-hate to go to vet-cat hates them and it is
50 bucks to boot.

thanks

as I said, it could be fatty cysts.  My elder cat has capsule like bumps on
either side of her spine starting just after her rib cage, that tend to wax
and wain in cycles, also depending if I massage them.  Several doctors have
told me its nothing to worry about.  But you never know what they are unless
they are looked at.  Ive said it before and I'll say it again.. ya can't be
sure of what something is via a text description.  you have to see it and
feel it to be sure.  When is your furry friend due for vaccines?  If he's
eating ok, and acting ok, then it shouldn't be a problem to wait a little
while.

and it could be cancer cancer does show up in funny ways.  Today it showed
up as a "broken foot".  could be the cats nipples if its on the belly. Could
be a wart, could be a mole.  Could it be a tick?

They sound a lot like the "skin warts" my cat has.  Vet said it's
nothing to worry about.  Just have them checked next visit for
shots.

Thanks-they look like warts to me with no scratching or other problems.
