Hi,

I have two lovely indoor cats.  One three years old female and one
four years old male.  They have both been fixed.  However, my female cat
sometimes acts like she is in heat.  During thos times, she is much more
affectionnate, even a bit too much affectionate, always wanting to be on my
lap.  On the other hand, she does not ask to go out.   Does some cats have
cycle even though they have been fixed?

           Thanks,

                  Richard

Was she just recently fixed?  could be the hormones working through her
system.  If she was fixed later in life, she might just be doing it out of
habit.

Hi,

She was fixed when she was six months old so she is not doing that out
of habit.

Hum.. interesting.  Does she do the butt up in the air prance, or does she
just become more affectionate?  is it an actual cycle, can you chart it? or
is it just from time to time she becomes more affectionate?  Usually a cat
in heat meows a LOT, and thrusts her butt in the air as an invitation to
take care of her "problem".

She likes to put her butt up but she does not meows more than usual.   It
does not last long.  Just a few hours or a day or two but it is a very
different behaviour than her usual self.
