Older cat, long hair.Lump about the size of a ballpark type shell peanut.
I did net search for "cysts" but only came up with
a lot of inner liver type diseases. Not the symptons I see (feel).

My brother had a cat that had a cyst on back that basically
just "popped" and oozed out fluid, and that was that.

Any net topics on this?  Tumor maybe?

It's a cat that I kind of adopted from a house across the street.
I'm hoping for more than "Take it to a vet".Maybe info or related
experience some here have had with their cat?

Thanks much.
merry xmas too!

When any animal of mine shows up with a lump, it goes to the Vet.
There is no "more than" take it to a Vet.  It should go to a Vet
if you are at all worried.

It could be an abscess.  It could be an inflammation of the lymphnodes.
Could be cancer.  sorry.. but no one can diagnose anything on line.. ya have
to actually see it and feel it.. so take it to the vet.

My cat gets small lumps, she has had one on her neck and one on her lip.
It turned out
(after taking her to the vet) that she has alergies and requires a shot
for this. She
is all better and does not get the lumps or bumps anymore.

I'll certainly second this motion.   Take it to the vet!

Sabrina developed a lump on her front leg, I first thought it was a busted
elbow from swatting at the dog or something, but I took her to the vet and
it turned out to be cancer - and they amputated her leg.   But - I still
have my baby Sabrina!   3 legged, blacknight that she is.  :)  Better save
than sorry.

Has the cat been in a fight?  when I returned from holidays
once I'd left a friend [so called] looking after my cat she let him
out in the dark and a possum attacked him, I'd asked her not to
let him out in the dark for this express reason, she didn't notice
but when I got back,I was in England for 6 weeks, I noticed a
lump on his back, then I another a bit lower down, the vet said
*something* had attacked him, yes and I knew what! he had to
shave his back and put drains in both lumps, for a couple of weeks
cost me &220 as he had to have them flushed out two or three times
before they got better hope its not that good luck,  Jean P.
