We have a fake tree, plastic baubles, no tinsel and mini-lights only
plugged in when we are in the room. Maximus is using the thing like
monkey bars! While it is fun to watch and does not seem to pose any
safety issues, he is going to bring the whole tree down! Is there any
way to keep kittens out of trees? :)

If you find a way, let me know. I've been searching for years.....

Sigh.... The tree just came down. Luckily the kids agree that our
kittens are much more important than the Christmas tree.....

That's why we didn't put up a tree this year, too much tempting for two
crazed kittens. :)

Laugh if you want, but for several years I bungee-corded by tree to
some bolts I set in the wall. That kept my kitten, who shortly turned
into a 15 pound CAT, from attacking and knocking over the tree.
Sigh...I just wish I could use icicles, but I still haven't found out
how to keep cats from eating them, and putting their lives in danger.

Try using a product called ssscat. it has a motion sensor on it and will
beep or spray air onto the cat when approached. It has worked keeping my cat
away from other things..

not too tall to to place on the entertainment unit, I move the tele'
to the extreme sideand put the tree next to it, it's a bit hard to put it up
there, but I manage, before I did that It was a headache trying to
keep my kitty from trying to pounce on it, now doyou know how to stop my
little cat from eating my plants ?LOL Jean P.

We just anchor our tree to the wall with sometwine type stuff. No way it's getting knocked over
like that.

Anchoring my tree wasn't a problem. It was big enough that my eight
month old kitten couldn't knock it down. He did, however, routinely
attack it and climb up the inside of it. He destroyed fully one-third
of my christmas ornaments. That included some I've had for years and
had plenty of sentinemental value.
What can you do? He's a kitten. He's rambunctious. He didn't know
any better. Any since I could never catch him in the act, I could
never tell him no and give him some reinforcement as to what thatt
means.
